SOLICITOR DEAL’S ELECTION.
He fs Chosen as Secretary of the
Executive Committee.
Statesboro. Ga.. July 23.—The elec
tion of Solicitor A. M. Deal ati perma
nent secretary of the executive com
mittee of the First congressional dis

is a young man of splendid ability and
he will add many votes from Bulloch

at the October election. Bulloch was
the only county in the district that
gave Col. Herrington a primary, but
she Is none the less a friend to Col.

Cattle Dyl ng-
Greensboro, On., July 25.—A number
of cows have died in Greene county
recently and their death is attributed
to various causes. Some have suc
cumbed to flatulent colic, others have
had fever, said lo be attributable to
low vitality, produced by ticks, thpy
literally sucking away the life-blood of
the brutes. A few days ago Mr. John
Youngblood lost a cow, she dying of
an unrecognizable complaint. The ani
mal would not cat. and rapidly became
very emaciated. She drew breath very
laboriously, the air maAing a sound as
if forced through a bellows, and
groaned frequently. A young cow be
longing to Mr. Mervin Rossman has
been simlarly affected, and is noav In
a dying condition.
