The House reconsidered die hill yester
day rejected, amending the 3d section of
the 4th article of the Constitution, so at to
make the General Officers of the Militia
elective by the people, subject lo oo militia
duty in their respective Brigades and Di
visions.
A resolution on the 11 th p'.ssed the
fl. of R. for adjournment tint die on
Saturday next, and then we suppose tlie
session of the Legislature will cltse. The
House yesterday passed a bill which ex
tends the laws wl this State over the Cher
okee Indians within our charlrred limits.
' r he Ruad Bill is yet before tie Senate,
where il is undergoing amendments; its
passage in any shape is somewliat doubt
ful.

documents, containing additional testimo
