A ration to consist of one pound and one
quarter of beef, or three quarters of a pound
of ptflrk, eighteen oamtee of bread or flour,
one gill of rum, whifltey or brandy, and at

the rate of nro quarts of fait, four quarts of
tinegar, four pounds of (bap, zed one pound
and a half of candles to every hundred ra
tions. The prices of the several component

Mambriho, the dam of Gallatin, was
purchased by Mr, Grimes, of lord Grofvc
tior, and imported; Mambrino came cut of

Gallatin, and Bedford’s get, are as fellow :
Gallatin at Richmond, (in Virginia) in
Oflobcr 1802, ran a 2 mile heat in 3 mi
nute* 43 fcconds, in February 1803, at
Chsrleuon, for the feccnd day’s jecky club
puifr, he ran a three mile heat in q mi
nutes 53 seconds, for the city putfe, two
days after, he ran the fame diflancc in 3
minutes C 2 fcconds —Cup Bearer by Bed
ford, at Frcdcricklburg, October 1803, for
the fiifl; day's purse, four mile heats, the
) firJ he ran in 7 minutes 56 fccaad*, and
the second heat he ran in 7 minute* 50 se
conds.
The firil day’s purse, at the Chailefton
race* was taken by Gallatin, by walking
over the course, nothing daring to start
against him. The second day Nancy-Air
by Bedford, won with great case. The
third day Dungannon, by Bedford, wan
with vast ealc. The fourth day was won
by Gallatin, to whom Dungannon was se
cond. Gallatin has performed a four mile
heat sooner than any horfc on the continent.
