GALLATIN is an elegant figure, full
fifteen hands and a half high, eight years
old, a bright sorrel, of superior form and
cunftiitition, Gallatin hat Hood but one fea
f.n in Georgia, has proved himfrlf to be
a fuie foal getter, and several of his colts
have already ap|>eared, which have by good
judges, been laid to be superior, according
to their age, to any they ever law on the
continent.
GALLATIN was got by the imported
horse Bedford, his dam was tbs imported
mare Mambrino; Bedford and Mambrino
were bred by lord Grosvenor of
England. Bedford, the sue of Gallatin,
was got by Dungannon, of England, his
dam Fairy by High* Fiycr ; his grandam
F*iry- Queen by young Cade; his great
grandam Ruthi-Black eyes by Crab; his
great great grandam Worlock Galloway,
by the Curwin Bay Barb; who dates his
origin as far back as the great Godolpbean
Arabians, all of the above named Sock
Sands the highest on the racing Callender
and Sud book of England.
Mambrino, the dam of Gallatin, was
purchafcd by Mr. Grimes, of lord Grofve
oor, and imported ; Mambrino came out of
a filter to Naylor’s Sally, whole ft'.«ck and
pedigree Sand high and celebrated, by the
itud book of England, among the firft of
the racing flock.
The performances of Gallatin on the
turf, and of the Bedford flock, will Lc
found by reference to the racing calenders
to be fupeiior to any on the continent.
The best performances that have been
hitherto publilhed, except, of Bedford's
get, are of Brimmer's Rosetta, Bctfey Ba
ker, Shaik, Commerce, Virago, Levis ban
<kc, r l hey have been from 8 minutes 7 fc
ccnds to 8 minutes 15 fecund* running a 4
roi/e heat. Some ot the performances of
Gallatin, and Bedford's get, are as follow :
Gallatin at Richmond, (in Virginia) in
Oflober 1802, ran a 2 mile heat in 3 mi
nute* 43 seconds, in February 1803,
Chtrlefton, for the fccond day’s jocky club
puife, he ran a three mile heat in q mi
nutes $3 seconds, for the city putfe, two
day* alter, he ran the fame ditlance in 5
minutes cz feccndr—Cup Bearer by Bed
ford. st Frederick Hiurg, Oflcbcr 1803, for
the fitft day *s purse, four mile heats, the
firft he ran in 7 minutes 56 ffcendi, and
the fccond heal he ran in 7 minutes 50 se
conds.

over the course, nothing daring to start
against him. The fccond day Nancy-Air
by Bedford, won with great eaie. The
third day Dungannon, by Bedford, won
with vatt csfe. The fourth day was won
by Gallatin, to whom Dungannon was se
cond. Gallatin has performed a four mile
heat sooner than any horse on the continent.

ces of Gallatin will be made known at his
(land, where it can be made appear that he
ranks as high in point of origin and perfor
mances a* any horse of the present day.

any pl?cc or placer, where troops are or may
be Rationed, marched or recruited within
the state of Ohio, and territory of Michi
gan, and at any place or places within the
Indiana territory north of the 41st degree
of north latitude.
Second, At the new military post oppo
site the mouth of the HiwaflVe, and within
the Cherokee nation between Ttnneflce and
Georgia, and on the TennefTic river, and
on the road between said river and Ncfh
ville, Sc at any place or places where troops
are or may be Rationed, marched or re
cruited within the fiates of Kentucky and
Tcnncffee.
Third, At the parrifon near Vincennes
on the river Wabafh,' at Fart Mzffi'c, New
Madrid, Chickasaw Bluff, Arkansas, Nat
chez, and Fort Adams, and at any place or
places where ttoops arc or may be Rationed,
marched or recruited in the Mtffftippi ter
litory, except the county of Washington,
and at any place or placet in the Indiana
