Requires that the tenth Section of
the General Ordinance, should be
rigidly enforced-—lt reads as fol
lows; i;
“ No person shall keep
on his or her premises any n usance to the
annoyance of his or her neighbors. Any
one so annoyed may complain to a Member
of Council belonging to his or her dis
trict, or to the Marshal. Such Marshal
shall summon three freeholders not re
siding in the immediate vicinity to exa
mine the premises complained of. If
they think there is a nuisance which
ought to be removed, they shall give a
decision in writing to that -'fleet ; and up
On such decision, the said Member of
Council or Marshal shall order the remova 1
of the nuisance, and if within three dais
thereafter it is not removed—for ever
day following’, th~ person on whose pre
mises it remans, maybe fined in a sum
not exc eding taenty dollars.” *

Notice to Claimants.
T.IE Commissioners, appointed, under
uie 11th article of the Treaty of Amity,
Settlement, and Limits, between the U
nited States of America and his Catholic
Majesty, concluded at Washington, on
the 22d day of February, 1819, to ascer
tain the full amount and validity of the
claims mentioned, or referred to, in the
said Treaty, being organized as a Board,
according to tlie provisions of the Treat)
and the act of Congress m that case made
tiitil provided, bare passed the following
Orders; of which, .alt those interested
will be pleased to take notice:
‘•Ordered, That all persons having
claims unde-the Treaty of Amity, ’ Set le
nient, and units, between the United
States i f Am.u.eo and his Catholic Maj-s

day of February, 1819, which are to be

of the Board; to the end, that they may

zen of the United States of America—
where he is uotv, and at the time the said
claim arose was, doni ciliated—and, if
any, what change of domicil! r.ion has
since taken place. The said memorial
must also set forth, whether the claimant,
or any oilier who may have been at anytime
entitled lo the amount claimed, or any part
thepeofi hath ever received any, and, if
any, what sum of money, or other equi
valent or indemnification, for the loss or
injury sustained, satisfaction for which is
therein asked.
“And that time may he allowed to

ILL take notice that the 101st sec
tion of the General Ordinance of the city
of Augusta, v;ill be enforced after the
first of June—lt reads as follows:-*-” All
Boats not in actual use, shall be removed
from opposite the city, during the months
of June, July, August, September and Oc
tober, annually Boats found opposite the
city, during the above named months of
the year, containing water in the holds,
shall be seized by any officer of Council
and conveyed from the city. Any person
violating this section shall be fined, at the.
discretion of Council, in a sum not ex
ceeding one hundred dollars per day; and
shall, moreover, be liable for all expences
incurred in removing such boat or boats.”

contsining the following notes with other
papers, and a small sum of money One
promissory note of hand, bearing dale in
March last, and due on the first day of
March next, drawn in favor of Sarah Whit
tington and this deponent, on Triplett
Shumate, for sixty seven or t ight dollars—
One promissory note of hand bearing date
about the same time, and due on the fi.st
day of March, eighteen hundred and
twenty three, drawn in favor of the sa nt
persons on said Triplett Shumate,for three
hundred dollars—Four twenty-nine do.lar
