pursuing through the whole distance a
high, plesant, healthful and cheap coun
try, (from a third to a fourth obeapp.r than
the lower route)witli entertainment equal
ly good, if not belter, and affording suffi
cient rest every night to the passengers.
This line will leave Edgefield court-house
every Wednesday morning, on the arrival
of the Augusta stage —and if cheapness,
case and health he of any importance in
travelling, this Line ought surely to meet
with u portion of (he public patronage,
particularly in the warm season.

on the application of James In Gresham,
an insolvent debtor, before the honorable
Elias Beall, John Hardeman, and Joseph I
Moore, justices thereof. Ordered, that the
22d day of September next, be and is
hereby appointed for the meeting of this
court again, upon the application ofthe
said James D Gresham, at the Court-house
of said county—at which tune and place,
it is further ordered, that the said James
D Gresham he brought up before this
court; and also that nil and singular the
creditors as well those at whose suit the
said James D Grcshafii is confined, as also
all those to whom the said James DGresh
am is indebted, shall be summoned to ap
pear in person or by attorney, to shew
cause, if any they have, why the said James
H Gresham shall not have extended to
him the benefit of the Constitution and
Laws of this stale in relation to insolvent
debtors.

IN Burke county, a negro fellow, who
says his name is DAVID or DAVEY, an
African by birth, speaks bad English and
scarcely can be understood, says his mas
ter’s name is M'Kecur Mac Kay, living in
Sonth-Carolina. He appears to be about
40 or 45 years of age, and is about five
feet 8 or 10 inches in height.

March last, and due on the first day of
March next, drawn in favor of Sarah Whit
tington and this deponent, on Triplett
Shumate, for sixty seven or eight dollars—
One promissory note of hand hearing date;
about the same time, and due on the first
day of -March, eighteen hundred ami
iwenty three, drawn in favor ofthe same
persons on said Triplett Shumate, for three
hundred dollars—Four twenty-nine doilar
notes of hand, bearing date shout the same
ime and due on the first day of March
next, drawn in favor ofthe same person*,
on Alaaander H. Allison, amounting to one
hundred and sixteen dollars.—One pro
missory note of hand bearing date about
the same lime and due on ihe first day of
January next, drawn in favor of EltnoP
Davis, signed by Samuel Flicks, for eight
hundred and seventy one dollars and
