Elias Beall, John Hardeman, and Joseph I
Moore justices thereof. Ordered, that the

of the Augusta stage —and if cheapness,
ease ami healHi be of any importance in
travt Iling, this Line ought surely to meet
with a portion of the public patronage,
particularly in the warm season.

Stop the Runaway.
ABSCONDED .iom the subscriber, liv
ing near Augusta, on the 13tli instant, a
mullatto negro woman, named
SARAH;
She is about thirty five or forty years of
age, thin visage, with a scar on her cheek,
probably occasioned by the whip. She
may aim for Milledgeville, as she is well
acquainted there, having lived in the fa
mily of Mr. Thomas Husen of that place;
1 hare reasons to believe she has a forged
pass in her possession and probably a free
one, which she may rely upon in travel
ling. All persons are cautioned against
employing her many way, as the law will
be rigidly inforced against any person of
fending in that way. A reward of Twenty
Dollars will be paid for her being lodged
in any Jail in Ibis state or Soutli-Caroli
na, and information given me.

ter, and being duly sworn, deposeth and
saith, that on the morning of th.- 19th of
April last, some where on the Washing
ton road, between James Burroughs, Esq,
and Augusta, he lost his pocket bopk,
containing the following notes with othejr
papers, and a small sum of money :—On§
promissory note of hand, bearing date in
March last, and due on the first day of
March next, drawn in favor of Sarah Whit
tington and this deponent, on
Shumate, for sixty seven or eight dollars—-
One promissory note of hand bearing date
about the same time, and due on the first
day of March, eighteen hundred and
twenty three, drawn in favor of the same
persons on said Triplett Shumate, for three
iitmdred dollars —Four twenty-nine dollar
notes of hand, hearing dale about the same
.ime and due on the first day of March
next, drawn in favor of the same
on Alexander H. Allison, amounting to one
hundred and sixteen dollars.—One pro?
