29th April —This intelligence produced
a sensible effect on the public funds,
which continued to decline after the open
ing of the Exchange on the 29 h.
Unless we are to regard these accounts
as forgeries of the Paris Editors, it is in
vain to attempt to resist the conviction
which they bring along with them that
hostilities have by this time broken out.
It seems pretty evident also, from the
completion of the foreign news, that the
opinion, we have already advanced as to
Austria taki'g part in the contest, on the
side of Russia, will be confirmed. Our
accounts by, the Amity led us to believe
that negotiations having that object in
view, were on the tapis.—lt is now stafed
in The Frankfort Gazette, that y thing
had been concluded satisfactorily between
the two powers, and that the Russian min
ister ft Vienna, charged with this special
mission by Alexander, and returned to St.
