$500 Reward—General Jail Delivery.
Three prisoners who have been confined for
some time past in our county jail, effected their
escape on last Saturday night, about 8 o cl-ck.
The parties we.re Samuel ScoviU, charged with
the robbery ofthe Marine Bank—Luke Nowell
charged with the murder of Peter Curry—and
one Raley, charged with negro stealing in Sum
ter comity. All of these men were confined in
cells in the third story of ihe Jail, but managed
by means of saws, files, and probably skeleton
keys, to get down to the first floor, whence they
made thefr egress by pirkinp a large hole through
the wall* It is said that Nowell and Raley he-
took themselves lo the swamp just below the
city, but that Scovill was carried off in a baggy
which was awaiting him just outside of the jail.
This, however, is only one of many rumors, nor
know how much confidence it is entitled
