FREIGHTING UN Ik,
Between Macon, Savannah and
Charleston.
mnE undersigned has procured a
JL Steam-Boat, (the North-Caroli
na) to run between Macon, Savannah,
and ( Miarlestoiiyfinring the approaching
boating season. The North Carolina is
a staunch, good boat, has recently un
dergone a thorough repair, and is excel
led bv few inspect]. She will take freight
to and from either place. From her con
struction and easy draft of water, it is
believed she will meet with no difficulty
in coming to Moron whenever the river is
at its ordinary boating height. When
it is not in such a state as to admit of
her reaching Macon, site will be met
with such lighters as will have no diffi
culty in getting up—so that merchan
dise shipped by her will not be detained
on the. river, on account ol low watr r. —
There is no doubt that by this arrange
ment, the space of time heretofore con
sumed in transporting merchandize be
tween Macon and those places will be
shortened at least one half- —and as no
exertions w ill lie spared to make a safe
j Ond expeditious inode of transportation,
it is therefore hoped and expected, that
those desirous of seeing so desirable an
object effected, and particularly those
interested itr'tlie prosperity of Macon,
will patronise this undertaking. The
Nnrth-Carolina will leave Charleston
on her first trip, about the first Novem
ber. 11. W. Conner, Esq. will act as
agent in Charleston, and .Messrs. Tho.
mas Butler A Cos. in Savannah.
