Between Macon, Savannah and
Charleston.
rWNHfc Undersigned has procured a
_fl_ Steam-Boat, (the North-Caroli
na) to mn between Macon, Savannah,
and Charleston, during the approaching
boating season. The North Carolina i
a staunch, good boat, has recently un
dergone a thorough repair, and is excel
led bv few in speed. She will take freight
to and from either place. Froth her con
struction and easy draft of water, it is
believed she will meet with no difficulty
in coining to Moron whenever the river is
at its ordinary boating height. W hen
it is not in such a state as to admit of
her reaching Macon, she will he met
with such lighters as will have no diffi
culty in getting up—so that, merchan
dise shipped by her will not fie detained
on the river, on account of low w ater.—
There is no doubt that by this art align
ment, the space of time heretofore con
sumed in transporting merchandize be
tween Macon and those places will lip
shortened at Vast one half—mi ;l as no
exeitions will be spared to make a safe
and expeditious inode of transportation,
it is therefore hoped and expected, that
those desirous of seeing so desirable an
object effected, and particularly those
interested irt the prosperity of Macon,
will patronise this undertaking. The
North-Carohna will leave Charleston
on her first trip, about the first Novem
ber. 11. VV. Conner, Esq. will act as
agent in Charleston, and Messrs. Tho.
mas Butler A Cos. in Savannah.
JOHN T. ROWLAND.
Macon, Sept. 4. 26
The Georgia Journal, Georgian
and Charleston Courier, will publish the
above once a week, until forbid.
