GALLIGIIAN’S VEGETABLE
FSVJBB. AND AGUE PILLS.
A certain and lasting cure for that disease.
rpHE subscriber, having been appointed special Agent I
X for the sale of Gallighan’s Fever and Ague Fills, is j
prepared to furnish planters and country traders with j
utipplies of said articles on terms equally ns favorable as
i they can be obtained oftlie proprietors.
Gallighan's Pills, though useful for nil diseases which |
originate in a superabundant collection of bile in the
; stomach, are more particularly intended for Fever and
Ague. In tlie first place they demise, strengthen, nnd
| give tone to the stomuch und bowels, und create u new
| and healthy action throughout the sxstem They pro
, duce u natural and permanent appetite. They defend
I the system against new or subsequent attacks of the dis
■ ease. They remove ull obstructions of the liver and
j other organs. They assist the various operations ofna
\ turn, by cleansing the system of all vitiuted, corrupt and
acrid humors, and thus invigorate and reanimate the
j “ hole frame. Possessing a purgative quality, they can
not remain in the bowels to produce such oh* r diseases I
as often follow the injudicious treatment oftlie Fever and
Ague. They are composed entirely of vegetable matter,
and may be taker, by persons of both sexes, and of all
ages, without the least danger of unpleasant consequen
ces. In fine, the public are assured, that Gallighan’s
Pills posses® those inestimable virtues which are requi-)
site not only to arrest, but to eradicate and destroy, the i
last seeds of this most distressing malady of the human
family.
The proprietors solemnly pledge themselves that they
do not contain a partk le of mineral in any shape or form, 1
hut are composed entirely of simple vegetable substan
ces, which, either separately or combined, and without
regard to sex or age, perfect y harmless in their effect
upon tlie human system.

‘AM7E advise our Southern friends to avoid u* they ;
Y v would a pestilence, the line of between
Alontgomcry and Augusta, on which one John Dillon,
or Dillihuu, is engaged as driver.
Til is fellow isi a full-blooded Irish scamp, utterly i
reckless of the lives of his passengers, and ready at any
moment to sacrifice them rather than that the couch Ire
drives ► lion Id he behind.
On Friday night last, between Macon and Mi Hedge*
villa, he started his horses upon the run, w ith u crock of
the whip and a wild whoop, attempting to pass the couch !
belonging to the People’s Line,in which tin* subscribers
hud taken passage j the horses of this coach took fright, 1
und started ulso upon the run. Here wax no very en
viable or agreeable scene. A surge race at midnight,
over a rough and hilly road, is not an adventure iu
which a sensible man would like to find himself. Ours j
was fortunately attended w ith no loss of Life, but the J
escape was a narrow and u remarkable one j after run- j
niug at full speed about three hundred yards, the caaeh
es cmne in contact with u tremendous crush, domu owtv j
the injury of breaking the spokes of our w heels. Shortly j
Kfl*r, we drove into n sand-hawk, und our driver ws *
enabled to hold up his horses, nnd John Dillon had the I
i glorious opportunity of passing the conch. The ruu- :
uing into our stage was, in all probability, intentional *
on the part of this Dillon, for there is a warm and hostile
jealousy and opposition carried on by the “Moil nnd
Telegraph lines” to the “People’s Line,” un opposition
in which the passengers of either line are the unfoitu- 1
nate sufferers. The drivers generally regard tbeii pus- j
aeugei* as so lnauv unimportant units whose comfort
and safety is second to the all grand matter of “oinking
good time,” or of arriving at some petty country village I
ten minutes nnd a half earlier than the other. The lives |
of a dozen passengers are endangered, and the happiness !
of their families arc subject to the ridiculous strife of j
two stage drivers, that one may bousl that he was three 1
quarters of a minute before hi* opi osition.
It would be better that travellers who take thi* route I
should provide themselves w ith the menus of prevent- !
iugor punishing such an aggression as tire one we com- •
I plain of; ami most certainly, if this John Dillon had
not concealed himself on our arrival nt Marnii, we
should have been spared ihc trouble of warning our j
; friends against hint.
It i* to be trusted that the proprietors of the “Mail
und Telegraph lines,” however anxious they rnny le to •
injure the 4 * People’s Line,” w ill not continue in their ,
employ such a reckless scoundrel as Dillon, mid it is .
their duty to adopt the rule of the other stage,'and posi
tively forbid racing. Tito fats of the Pulaski and the
Moselle should certainly have taught the public that *
t/ie extravagant desire to“ make time 4 ’ and he “olieml,’ I
: are not consistent w ith safety, nnd Ff the drivers of stage ,
coaeite* are of u different opinion, passengers ought to
have the incans nt baud of enforcing their own pleas of
the matter, atul Me vjton themse!res the rerfwtnibi/t/y
