last 'Empire State, that Hunt, the man who killed
Ualston in Alllledgeviile two years ago, attempted
to assassinate Col. Wrightvot Ncwnan, on Friday
the 23d ult . in the bn'-room of the Alillcdgevillc
Hotel. Col. Tidwell struck up the pistol of Hunt
as he was in the act of firing, and thus saved the
life of Col Wright.
