Hemp is the article which, it is expected, will be most extensively cultivated, as it is deemed congenial to the soil of ma il) parts of the southern states. Ma ny contemplate employing large tracts ot land in the cultivation ol x\w ground nut, a plant peculiar to the southern states and which affords a handsome profit to the grower. Many intelligent citizens also bat e turned their attention to the pastur age of sheep, w hich they have been heretofore prevented from doing by the superior profit derived from em ploying their whole capital in the culture of cotton.
