ol our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty one, between Will
iam Alston, of the countv and State aforesaid, of the one part,
and Alfred Burnham ofthe same place,ofthe other part, wit
nessed that the suid William Alaton, for and in consideration
ot the sum of One hundred dollars to him in band paid, at and
before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained,sold
and conveyed, and does by these presents grant, bargain, sell
and convey, unto iho said Alfred Burnham, his heirs and as

James Nolen, that John Campbell, in his life time, to
wit, on tho 8th day of January, 1834, made and exeented to the
said James Nolen, two bonds for titles to two lots of laud, to
wit,Lot. No. one hundred and twenty, in the nineteenth dis
trict ofthe first section, drawn by Phillips Crawford,and lot
No. one hundred and fifty-five in the twentieth district and
third section, drawn by James Duff: And whereas it appears
that the said Nolen has regularly petitioned this Court:
and it also appearing that the said John Campbell departed
this life without making titles to the aforesaid two lots of land
making any provisions therefor, und that Alfred Sears has
been appointed Administrator on the estate of the said John
Campbell:—
It is, therefore, Ordered, by the Court, that the said Alfred
Sears, Administrator us aforesaid show cause before this
Court, within the lime prescribed by law, why he should not
make, execute and deliver to the said James Nolen,deed to

DESTRUCTION BY FIRE.
O N the night of 27th of December I a at, my Gin House, eon-
Ynining 140 bales of Cotton, 21 of which were packed,lo-
gether with 130 bushels of oats, cotton press,&c. was set on
nre and totully consumed, A Iso, on the night of the 9lh inst.
my Barn house, containing 3000 bushels of corn, or more, a
quantity of seed peas, and other valuables, was made a flame
of fire for Satan's agents to retreat by. Such outrages should
awaken in every good citiaena feeling ofjustice, and prompt
him to aid, ns much as possible, in discovering the foul hand,
which, working in darkness, threatens, alike,destruction by
an^ smiie himself in hellish triumph attiie last dying yells of
the fire scorched infant.
The above reward will be paid to any person who will give
information sufficient to apprehend and convict the perpetra
tor or perpetrators of the above crimes; or $250 will be paid
to any person who will give information sufficient to appre
hend and convict the perpetrator ofeither of the above crimes.
