The Committee would recommend that the two female convicts now confined in the Penitentiary be pardoned ; and they recommend tluit sonic oilier mode of punishment be prescribed for females who shall hereafter be convicted of tlio.-e crimes for which they have heretofore been coufiucdin tlie Penitentiary, and that the li \v making a common prison the receptacle of males mid females, be repealed.
