Some two weeks ago. Mr. Towlar, (a fireman

Lampee remarked something about having mads

him to atsp off ten paces. Towlar, easing then

similar chant, whereupon ha struck Towlar In

drawing hla knife, thieetenea him. Towlar than
Jerked loots and drew hU pistol, whan Lampee
went back In tha bouse for hla. Towlar than
made for the wood-rack on tha aids of tha rail
road, and waa Juat getting behind It when Lam
pee fired, the ball entering TowUr’s left lag Juat
above tha knee. TowUr than drew hie pistol,
and wbeu Lampee waa within about thirty steps,
fired, the ball entering hla right aye, and killing
him Instantly.
Mr. TowUr Is not under arrset, as reported,
but holds himself ready to answer any charge
that may be brought against him. He aama to
