I will here remark, that this lime has-been tested
•by some of the best judges and mechanics of-our
country, and found to be good. ..The only objection
to the lime is, it being a shade or two darker than
' the Northern lime; but independent of this, for brick
>work, inner coats of plastering, tanneries, cement
and durability, it is inferior to none. Annexed is a
certificate from the two principal Workmen in Macon,
who have been in the habit, for tho last three years,
of usiag the same, which willihow for itself. I could
‘ furnish many more, but deem itunnecessary,(rom the
i known standing of thosegontlemen as masons in this
section of the country; which too is a sufficient warran-
• tee against any imposition upon the public. It Is
'true the prejudices against the lime of this country.
did, to a considerable extent, operate against the lime
of Crawford county; and it was with much difficulty
i those prejudices hare been removed, which, for some
time, kept the latter limoout of the market. Still,
-there is yet some in existence, which I hope to do a-
•way, and a trial is only wanted to remove it. The
-demand has increased and continues to increase,
'.which is a convincing proofof its genuineness. Ex-
-perimen t and experience have, so far as it has been tri.
• ed. proved it equal to the Northern lime, when in an
< unslaked stale. I will further add, that I have no de
sign upon the community in which I live or upon the
public. .But having for my object, a wish to make
a business of it, should it justify me in so doing, and

We have been in Abe habit of using Mr. Josefs
'Bzsbett’s Lime, burnt in Crawford county, and find
-it as good as any we have for use in this place, either
for brick work or plastering, when it is in an unstat
ed state. The only difference between that and the
'Northern Lime is, that the former is not quite as
white. DAVID F. WILSON.
