I will hero remark, that Ibis lime bns been tested
by sopw of the best judges nnd mechanics of our
country, and found to bo good. The only objection
to the lime is, it being n shnda or two darker then
thn Northern lime; but independent of this, for briiji
work, inner coats of plastering, tanneries, cenu-ni
and durability, It is inferior to none. Annexed is a
certificate from the two principal workmen in, Mauon.
who have been in the habit, for the last three years,
of using the same, which will show for itself. I could
furnish many more, but do.cin it unnecessary, Irum the
known standing of i hose gentlemen ns masons in this
section ofthe country; tvliicb tools a sufficient warran
tee against any imposition upon the public. It is
true the prejudices against the lime of this couutry,
did,to a considerable extent, operate against tho lime
of Craw&ed county; and it was with much difficulty
those prejudices have beeu i-i moved, which, for some
time, kept the latter litneont of the market. Still,
there is yet somein existence, which I hope to do a-
uny, nnd n trial iaoixly wanted to remove it. The
demand has increased and continues to Increase,
which is a convincing proof of Its genuineness. I>
penmen t nnd experience have, so far tu it ha? been til
ed. proved itequnltolho Northern Ikne. when in mi
unlinked state. I will further add, that I hnve no de
sign upon tho community iq which I live or upon the
public. But having lor my object, a wish to make
a business of it, ibonlil it justify me in so doing, and
holding the only quarry in this immediate section of
couutry, are my reasons far this exposition. Tor n
further proof of ay-motives, take the article, and try
it; and if it duos not come upto the recommenda
tion. I will bave..nothing for it. [Here follows the
certificate:]
Wo have been In the habit of using Mr. Joskmi
BcNxxrr's Lime, burnt in Crawford county, and find
it as good as any we have for use lu this place, either
for brick work or plastering, when it is in nn hnslnk-
ed state. Tho only difference between -that and the
Northern Lime is, that-the former ii not quite as
white. DAVID F„WILSON
