executed by oite Gresham Sims, on the fourteenth
day of June, ono tliousand eight hundred and
twenty eight, for Jot' of Land number seventy-
three in tin* sixth district of formerly Houston
county now Crawford, which said mortgage deed
was given to secure the payment of a certain pro
missory note made by him, tho. said Grcsnam
Sims, to him, tho said Feftchy R. Gilme>, for the
sum of sixty-six dollars; which said note hears
even dato with said mortgage and becamo duo
nu tho first day of October after the date thereof;
which said mortgage deed the said Peachy R.
Gilmer is desirous to have foreclosed.
It is therefore ordered. That the said Gresham
Sims do pay into the Clork’s office of said court
the principal ahd interest due on tho said note
specified in said mortgage deed withiu six months
from this dote, or that upon Ijjs failing to do so,

EDUCATION .
With Manual £abor.
T HE subscriber having purchused ti smnjl plan-
tation near Eatonton, proposes to take atx or
eight young men of good moral characters, between
the ages of 12 amt 17,.and to provide for their Inst ruc
tion jn the various branches of Education, in Agri
culture, and in the Mechanic Arts. Apparatus to il
lustrate the sciences of Chemistry, Astronomy, Nat
ural Philosophy, &c.- will bo procured and a Meehan-
ic shop i reeled. ’ /•
Schools of this kind, established in Tennessee nnd
in the Aliddlo and Northern States have flourished
tieyond the expectations of the most sanguine. Hun
dreds of applications to euler students have I cen re-
jrcted during the year for the want of accommoda
tion. The writer Baa been urged by several respecta
ble and literary gentlemen, who have promised their
sons, to.open asmilar one in Georgia and he now de
signs' to make the experiment. So many months
have elapsed iiv fixing on a site, since he formed the
determination, that lie lias not nowtime instate all
the particulars of his plan; nur will he make high pre
tensions in regard to his qualifications nor the amount
that shall belearned. lie will endeevorhoweverto
impart ibstrnction as far And as well as he is able.
Assistance will be procured in teaebingthe mechanic
arts anil some of the common branches of Education.
The object is tor make practical men and qualify
them to become good teachers of schools.
in government, he will endeavor to act the part of
n parent and treat the pupils as his children; but he
must be oboyed. He desires no parent to send his son
who is unwilling to have him submit to the regula
tions ofthe school. Each student will labor hco or
three hours in the day or about one day and a half in
the week. Care will he taken, hs tho weather grows
warm, that they he not exposed .to a mid-day sun, till
they become inured to athletic exercise, by employ-
iiig'tlic mornings and evenings. many hour, will
not be requisite all the year, hut in a busy season,
somewhat more.
Each student will provide himself with sheets, to w
els and blankets—and it xvould be, economical lor him
to have a coarse suit to wear during the hours of la
bor. Books, stationary, oil; «Se. will be furnished
those xvlio need them at the lowest price. The times
of examinations and vacations cai)Aot now be named.
KeligoUs service hill be attended ‘every sabbath in
Eatonton. a little more than a mild distant.
Those xvho wish to enter their sons must give infor
mation and secure places by the ]0th ot January.
