SLOOP EXPERIMENT,
FOR BASS EKGE U S OKL \.
Eliha S. Bunker,
BEGS leave to inform his friends and the public, that
he will, on the firft of July, commence running a
a’oop, of ibom one hundred and ten tons burthen, be
tween the cites of NEW-YORK and HUDSON, for
the ptirpofeof carrying fassengkrs.
Few people, who have had occalion to take paflage
np or down the North River, but have experienced the
inconvenience and rifque of going on board veileis
deepiy loaded and lumbered on deck ; ther fore cap
t. in bunker has determined to take no freight on board
the i xperiment, which will remedy that inconvenience
and entirely do away the rifque.
The owners of this veflel, being desirous to render
the paflage as short, convenient and agreeable as pos
sible. have not only taken care to furnifh her w ith the
boll Beds, Bedding, 1 iquors, Provisions, &c. but they
have been at very great expense and trouble in procur
ing materials and bui ding her on the belt construction
for f„i mg and ior the accommodation of ladies and gen
tlemen travelling on buuness or forpleafure.
I he Experiment will leave New-York every Wed
liksdav evening precisely at 6 o’clock, and Hudson
evet j Sunday morning at 8 o’clock, through the sea
son
Captain Bunker having en several years engaged in
the fie'ghting bufinels between New-York and Hud
lon, has become well acquainted with every part of the
river; and he hopes, by attention and punctuality, to
niei it the patronage of ladies and gentlemen from the
fouthvvard, who may visit the celebrated Bailston,
Saratoga, and Lebanon Springs, or trave ers
who may have occalion to travel through the northern
Hates. The shortness of the paflage to Hudson, when
compeared with that to Albany, or any place above
Hudft in, (where the river is impeded by bars, islands
and overflows that render it impossible for fall failing
V lreis to pass) he thinks will induce mod people who
are acquainted with the difference, to take passage to
Hudson, where carriages or boats can at all times be
had at a moderate expense, to convey them to Albany,
Troy, Lanlingburgh, or the Lebanon Springs, which
*re about 30 miles distance.
