Runaway from the subscriber’s plantation
on Great Satilla, his NEGRO FELLOW,
Derekue, about thirty years of age, and
about five feet eleven inches high. Had on
when'he went^awav,‘’homespun round jacket
and overalls. I am credibly informed, he is
or has been harbored near Savannah. This
may answer as a caution to all persons from
concealing, harboring, or in any wise giving
encouragement to said fellow In his absence.
The above reward will be paid to any per
son delivering him to the keeper of the com*
mon gaol, and all reasonable charges.

Dick, who absconded on Friday 15th inst. He
is 5 feet ’4 or 5 inches "high; well made ; of
black complexion ; has a scar tinder hri right
eye, and has lost one of his fore-teeth. He is J
'branded on the back, near the right shoulder,; tor the said notes,
A. M.I. Speaks plain English and is very
artful. He had on when he absconded, a
•brown found jacket and pantaloons, and a pair
of long boots. Said fellow has been working
about town asa porter since January last ; fom
years preceding which month, he was hired
to the late gen. Abraham Jackson, dec. ^?n
Burke county, where it is probable he may
now be lurking. Should he be taken there,
or any considerable distance from Savannah,
all necessary expences will be paid for his de
livery as above.
Masters of vessels and all other persons, are
cautioned against barooring or taking him out

Ten Dollars Reward.
Ran away, three weeks ago, from the sub
scriber’s plantation, a MULATTO GIRL,
called Alexandrine. She walks fast; her
complexion dark; she is of a middle size; is
remarkable by thick and very black eye brows;
thick lips, and a shrill voice. Whoever will
lodge her in the gaol at Savannah, or return
her to the owner’s plantation, in White-Bluff
district, shall receive the above reward.

Ran-away on tiie 2d inst. from the subscri
ber’s plantation,aNEGROFELLOW, named
Billy, about five feet three or four inches
high; well made; about thirty-five years of
age. He is well known about Savannah. Had
on wlien fee went away, a blue jacket and pan
taloons.
The above reward win be paid to any per
son who will deliver said fellow to me, or con
fine him in gaol, so that I may get him again.

old ; much ufed in living about town, and very cun
ning ; has gone by the names of Livingfton and Dick,
find is well acquainted in the ftate of South Carolina.
Any perfon apprehending the faid fellow, fo that
the fubferiber may get him again, fhall receeive the -

Some time in the months of May or June,
808, Messrs. Alexander S. Roe and Walter
loe, purchased of col. Thadius Holt, three or
our tracts of land, m Baldwin county, and for
vhich they paid him one half of the purchase
noney, and for the other half they requested
ne to join them In three several notes, amount-
pg, altogether, to two thousand dollars, paya-
ile, I believe, in the following manner;—One
ote for 500 dollars, on the 24th June, 1810;
e other note for the same sum, on the 24th
ne, 1811; aiul one other note for 1000 dol
lars, payable on the 24th June, 1812; and, for
ipy security, tliey were to give me a mortgage
ai the said land, which they have never done,
% they have never had titles themselves. It
if now more than twelve months since I was
informed by colonel Holt and the said Roes,
that the mode of -security for the payment of
tke last half of the purchase money was ar
ranged in another manner ; and that the notes
to which I had put my name, should be given
tome. I have also since been frequently as
sured by the said Roes, that the said notes
should be given up to me ; but, as yet, they
never have, and as I have -in no way, or in any !
manner whatever, received any consideration
I do now notify all and
every person, that I will not pay the said notes,
therefore caution all persons not to deal dr
trade for said notes.

heard any thing more of them, I have thought
proper to give the abeye notice.

ably to an act of the congress of the ‘United
States^ passed on the twenty-eighth day of
June, one thousand eight hundred, and nine,
entitled, “An act to amend and continue iu.
force, certain parts of the act, entitled " An
act to interdict the commercial intercourse
between the United States amd Great-Britain
and France and their dependencies, and for
other purposes.” Xnd, that the said schosner,
after proceeding to sea, directed, her coutse to
the island of Cuba, a foreign port or place, or
some other foreign port or place, and arrived
at the said island of Cuba, and proceeded from
thence to St. Bartholomew's, a foreign port or
place, contrary to the provisions of the said
act “ interdicting the commercial intercourse
between the United States and Great-Britain
and France, and their dependencies’’ That
the said schooner left the island of St. Bartho
lomews aforesaid, on the seventeenth day -of
May last past, and aTrived at the port Of Sa
vannah, in the district aforesaid, on the fourth
day of June instant, wheR and where the said
John Caldwell, who is, or late was master or
commander of said schooner, entered the said
vessel at the Custom-House, as having arrived
from St- Bartholomews, and which said sek-r.
Called the Eliza & Katy is now in the river
Savannah, and within the jurisdiction of this
honorable court. That the said schooner 's<»
departing from the port oT New-York or New-
Orleans, or any port in the United States, with,
out having given bond as directed by said act
of congress, and proceeding to'a foreign pore
or place, is a direct violation of the law, and
whereby the said schooner is wholly forfeited.
By means of all which actings and doings, the.
said schooner, together with her tackle, furni
ture and apparel, have become forfeited to Acs
United States.
Now, therefore, yon the said Marshal, are*
hereby commanded to cite and admonish, *11
and every person or persons, having or ;pre-
tending to have any right, title, interest, pro
perty, claim or demand whatsoever, of, in, tp-
or upon tke said schooner Eliza Sc Katy, ‘her
tackle, furniture and apparel, to be and ap
pear at a special-court of admiralty, to bfe hchL
at the court-house in the city of Savannah, in.
the said district iff Georgia, on the fourteenth,
day of August next, to answer 7 the United
States in the pr -mises, and to shew cause, if
any they have, why the prayer of the libel,
should not be granted, and'that what xhadl ap

notification, I feel it necessary to state a few
facts. When I made the purchase abovemen-
tioned, it was understood with Mr. Morel that
it should be for the henefit of my brother’*
family. I paid one half the purchase mo
ney, and l am informed, and believe, Mr. Pe
ter Morel since said several times, that he in
tended to pay the other half himself. While
I was up the country, said Morel expressed
a wish to have a mortgage, as security for 1)19
indorsements. I immediately executed one for
a much larger sura, and sent it to Messrs. Da
vies & Berrien, and it was by them handed to
Mr. Morel. No application was ever made

attornies during my absence from the state,
with as full powers as if I was present.
