Whereas, a libel hath this,day been filed in
the admiralty court of the United States for
the district dforesaid, by. Archibald S. Bull ch,
esq. collector of the port of Savannah* in the
district of Georgia, ih the name and in the be
half of the Unjted States, against the Ameri
can brig John, her tacklei apparel, furniture
and cargo, by which said libel it is stated;
that the said brig John, whertot one John D i-
vicLon is master, now tying at anchor in the
river Savannah, and within the jurisdiction of
this honorable court, did arrive on or about the
twenty-seventh day of September instant; front
Liverpool in Great-Britain, a foreign port or
place, into the port of Savannah, in the dis
trict aforesaid, ahd that the following goods,
Wares and merchandize, that is to sa>, seventy-
seven 'bales, four hogsheads, thirteen casks,
sixty five cases, twenty-six boxes and fifty-
four trunks merchandize, one hundred and fif
ty four pieces cotton bagging, seventy-sevefi
crates eai then ware, thirteen kegs paint; twelve
jars oil, forty-six irotl jiots, one hundred and
ibrty-four camp ovens, forty eight iron spiders;
forty-height skillets, fifty-four tea kettles, six
sad one half tens coal and twenty nine tons
salt, being of the growth, produce or manufac

or upon the said brig and prohibited articles;
to be and appear at a special court ot Admiral
ty, to be held at the court hollse, in the city of
Savannah, in the district aforesaid, on the fif‘
teenth day of October next, to answer die

cause, if any they can, why the prayer of the
libel should not be grafted, and that right and'
justice may be done in the premises; and
