can brig John, her tackle, apparel, furniture
and cargo, by which said libel it is stated,
that the said brig Jabs’, whereof one John Da
vidson is master, now lying- at anchor in the
river Savannah, and within the jurisdiction of
this honorable court, did arrive on or- about the
twenty-seventh day of September Instant, from
Liverpool in Great-Britain, a foreign, port or
place, into the port of Savannah, in-the dis
trict aforesaid, and that the following, goods,
wares and merchandize, that is to say,seventy-
seven bales. Tour hogsheads, thirteen, casks,
sixty-five cases, twenty-six boxes and .fifty-
four trunks merchandize, one hundred and fif
ty frur pieces cotton bagging, seventy-seven
crates earthenware, thirteen kegs paint, twelve
jars oil, forty-six iron pots, one hundred and
terty-feur camp ovens, forty eight iron Spiders,
forty-eight skillet?, fifty-four tea kettles, six
sad one half tons .coal and twenty nine tons
salt, being of the growth, produce or manufac
ture of Great-Britain, were imported into, the
said port of Savannah, in the district aforesaid,
in the said brig, from Liverpool aforesaid, on
the said twenty seventh day of September in-
sia it; that the said goods,' wares, and mer
chandize, before stated, were in the said port, of
Liverpool aforesaid, on the day of -. last, ‘
put onboard the said brig, with intention to
import the same into the said port of Savannah

liam A. Dunham, esq. deputy collector at the
port of Barien, for the district of Brunswick^
in the name'and in the behalf of the United
Sta‘e«, <tuing that tile Spanish sloop San Jo
seph, burthen about seventy two ton* or there
about*. Diego Cummings late master, came into,
the said port of Darien,' in thedistrict of Bruns*
wick aforesaid, on the fourth September inst.
from Cuba, and has been abandoned by her i
master and crew, and stands charged by the
United States for the amount of the duty oq
her tonrage, to wit, two hundred and fifty cents
per ton, amounting to one. hundred and eighty
dollars. The said petitioner therefore prays,'
that such order or decree might pass from this
honorable court, authorising the sale, or other
disposition of said sloop San Joseph, her tackle,,
apparel and furniture, so as the amount of said
tonnage duty due the United States, may be
collect^ and received by him for the United
States, or snch other measure be adopted as
