Ordinary.
The counsel for caveators moved, a oontin-
nauce on the ground of tbe absence of one of
their principal witnesses, from whom they
had received a telegram that he would be in
attendance yesterday evening, and in the
event of his not arriving, counsel also applied
to the Court to allow the evidence taken in
writing before the court of Ordinary, when
the case was first bronght to be admitted in
the present instance; and shonld counsel on
tbe other side not consent to the admission
of that evidence, he would then move for a
continuance of the case for the term.
The counsel on tbe other side resisted the
motion on the ground that sufficient dili
gence had not been used to obtain the at
tendance of the witness Nipson.
The case was continued to the next term.

Railroad Communication with Augusta Ra-Ks-
tablisued.—By the advertisement iu another col
umn, our readers will ife gratified to learn that ou
Monday next railroad communication w.tft Augusta
will be resumed; and that, thereafter, there will be
daily morning and evening trains between the two
cities, tbe morning train leaving Savannah at liaif-
past seven, and arriving in Augusta at five o'clock
in the evening. Both trains connect with the trains
on the Georgia Railroad.

The ease of Betsy and Mary Mills, charged with
stealing household furniture belonging to the house
, l lir. Hatiicls, where they were employed about the
•„,nc of the occupation of the city by Federal soldiers
nine up for hearing. The negroes protested the
furniture laid been given them by Mr. Hackett, but
that gentleman testified he never owned any such
tuniiture. A great many tables, chairs, Ac., were
hi the hands of the officers, but the negroes had
spirited away to some place of concealment several
articles (ifwhich they had in their possession as late
as yesterday. The cuse was postponed until to
morrow morning at nine o'clock, when the Judge
will render a Ue cision.

Daeino Attempt at Robukrt—Arrest of the
Thieves.-Last evening, about six o'clock, Mr.
Cliurles Family, who is employed in watching the
stores north side of Bay sireet, between Whitaker
.md Barnard streets, instrncted his son, William Ka-
nlly, a young man aged about nineteen years, to

tier of stores. William lighted one of the lamps and,
when about to light the third, discovered that Hie

negro, who made Ills escape. William, however, se

principal thief at his house in Yunjucraw. His name
u Middleton. Messrs. Fareily deserves Hie thanks
of the community for their vigilance and energy in
bringing offenders to justice.
arrival of the Steamship Tyree.—The steam
ship Tybee, Capt. Crowell, arrived at her wharf yes
terday afternoon In seventy hoars from New York.

steamship Hunter from this port, bound north 40

ury that they were discharged for the term. The

Wc have learned not to be astonished at anything.
Years of experience aud a correspondence extending
throughout all nationalities of tbe habitable globe
have turned theories into facte and established a basis
from which we need not err, We are not surprised
at snch facts as tbe following—although the persons
who write them are. We know the persons and cir-
umstances, hence feel at liberty to indorse their
statements:

Dear Sir,—I have been afflicted many years with
severe prostrating crumps in my limbs, cold feet aud
hands, and a general disordered system. Physicians
and medicines failed to relieve me. YVbile visiting
some friends in New York w ho were using Plantation
Bitters, they prevailed upon me to try them. I com
menced with a small wine-glassful alter dinner. Feel
ing better by degrees, in a lew days I was astonished
to find the coldness and cramps had entirely left me,
