Cordial,” (about threeyeurs since) it was thought
that the complaints which it speedily overcome*,
were beyond the reach of human remedy, ns for
npyvards of a thousand years, they hnd baffled tho
vpwloni and ingenuity of the most profound phy
sicians iu ull parts of the world. This Cordial,
however, to the great udvuutnge of the human
race, soon proved itself to he tho desideratum so
long sought lor; nnd accordingly, notwithstanding
the oriel period of its existence, it ha* acquired a
celebrity so great, that it is eagerly sought for
throughout the civilized globe. Dr. Mngnin soon
finding that the demand was so vast us to render
a supply impossible, disposed of the reeipo and
right oi' sale, under obligations of secrecy, for
England and the United States, nnd other coun
tries, only preserving France and Italy for himself.
Thu* has the subscriber posscsed hunself of tho
invuluahle secret, and now hasten* to give the in
habitants of his line of agency fiie benefits of his
speculation.
“Lo Cordial de Lucitie.” or. in English, “the
Lucina Cordial,” is ugcneral iuvigoratorof the hu
man frame. In all the various cases of languor,
lassitude and debilitation, it is an unfailing reme
dy, a* it is cqunlly its province to impart cheer
fulness and decision to the mind, ns health nnd vi
gor to the body. But tho peculiar virtue on which
its celebrity i* based, is the ficility nnd certainty
with which it restores the virile powers when they
have been destroyed by disease, time, reckless
ness, or any of the numerou s causes which termi
nate in the prostration of those functions.
In common with fiie generality of really good
medicines, this Cordial contains nothing of a mer
curial or deleterious nature, among tho many in
gredients which compose it; hut is, at the same
time, so simple, yet so efficacious, that while it can
renovate the prostrated energies ofa giant, an in-
funt may use it, not only with impunity, but with
advantage.
The usages of society nro unfortunately such
flint, notwithstanding the benefits which would he
sure to result from it, we cannot enter into an an
alysis of this inestimable Cordial here, or publish
many of the documents which have been receiv
ed, us vouchers of the blessings it has conferred on
numbers of despairing individual*. But this wo
cannot forbear remarking—-that it has been de
monstrated that there is scarcely ever, if any such
thing nt all, as natural barrenness, or ns natural
imbecility of the procreant functions in either sex;
and, therefore, that those evils are the effects of
artificial causes, and maybe speedily subdued und
removed by the use of “Lo Cordial de Lticino.”
The Lucina Cordial is also an indubitable cure
for the Gleet, and the Fluor Albus, obstructed,
difficult or painful Menstruation; also, for the
incontinence of Urine or tho involuntary dis-
charge thereof. It is likewise an invuluahle nnd
unrivalled medicine in cases of Chronic Errup-
tions of the skin, und in the dropsicul affections
of the aged.
Most important to the American Public.
The United States proprietor of the celebrated
Lucina Cordial, or Elixir of Love, begs to lay be
fore tho community, the following certificate,
which he has received from the inventor, the illus
trious Dr. Magnin,of Paris:
"This is to certify, that I have disposed of the
recipe for making the Lucina Cordial, or Elixir of
Love, and also the right to sell it throughout the
United 8tales of North America, to John Winters
Ho!denve1l,AL D. .My reasons for so doing is,
that the demands to me for (lie above Cordial, of
which I am the inventor, are so numerous, that I
am unable to supply all the orders from France nnd
Italy alone; and Imve therefore disposed of the
privileges vouchsafed in this and other certificates
ol a like nature, iu order to generalise the benefits,
ot my discovery throughout the world.
Given under my hand at Paris, on this nineteenth

This is no high-wrought panegyric for tho exper
iment. I speak only from what I positively kuoW
—however successful other preparations iniw
have been, there can be little reliance placed ii]n«i
them when compared vyifii this article. By strict
ly following the directions that accompany the
bottle, we find it acts upon the most scientific
principle—for, it seems to anticipate tho return
of the cold fit, uml excites a strong reaction, and
powerful glow over the whole system; and thus
to pre-occnpy the ground, ami hy disturbing the
regularity ol the type, to subdue the intermittent
altogether. Under such a course of medicine, I
have been astonished to notice with whut haste

trated strength oftlio system ruffes. It is a pow
erful, yet mild medicine—substituting cultnneM,
tranquillity, nnd balmy sleep, iu place of pain, wea
riness, and restless nights—a renovation of long-
lost strength end robust health, in lieu of feelilo-
