A Certain Cure for Sick Head-
Ache,
W HICH hns been used in families, every
member of which hns had sick headache
from infancy,ns a constitutional family complaint,
nnd lias cured effectually in every instance yet
known, amounting to many hundred*. It is' not
unpleasant to the taste, and does not prevent the
daily avocation* of one using it; it must be perse
vered in. and the cure is gradual, but certain and
lennanent. Instances are constantly multiply-
ng where this distressing complaint iscmnpletc-
ly relieved and cured, although oTyears standing,
by the use of Dr. Spolm’s celebrated remedy.
One decided preference is its pleasantness, hav
ing none of the nauseating effects of common
drugs.
Iu nlldyspeptio symtoms, costiveness, irrrgu-
lurity, distress after meals, pains in the side and
torpidity of the liver, the cure is perfect, and any
one so afflicted will become immediately, convin
ced on using it, that he has at Inst found a “sover
eign balm for his wounds.” Females are particu
larly recommended to use it for costiveness or ir
regularity, and other female complaints. It is
iroved to correct vitiated and disordered hninors
teeping the stomach iu most perfect order. Those
turnons who after an evenings indulgence at par
ies, Ac. have headache and dullness tho next
day, will find this a sure preventive if taken at
bed time. For all common complaints, in a few
days its virtues will be self-evident, and a complete
euro will soon be effected. When a person has
a cold nnd feels unwell, generally a free use of it
fora few days will be sure to relieve without
ihysic or pills. To children it may be given with
he grentest advantage.
In all acidity or sourness of stomach this remedy
is sovereign and invaluable; as a general family
medicine it is now adopted by many of the most
respectable familes. It never sickens the stomach
roduces any oftheuupleasantefferts ofphysic.

Dr. Autumns' Aromatic Vege-
table Bitters,
For Jaundice, Indigestion. Weak Stomach, Ac.
T HESE Bitters are composed of vegetables
of tho most innocent, yet specific virtues,
nnd have been highly extolled by thousands who
have experienced their efficacy u» the above nam
ed complaints. They arc In fact the best sto - -
machic nnd corrective the vegetable kingdom fur
uishes. They nro highly useful ns n preventive
against fever, and are very serviceable at all sea-
sons of the year, more particularly in the spring
and summer months, when persons of bHious
habits experience that total loss of appetite, disa
greeahle listlessnc's and relaxation of the system.
They strengthen the stomach, procure a good ap
petite, promote digestion, purify the blood, and
restore the invulid to his original strength and
vigor. Most of the Bitters with which the mar
ket is now supplied are nothing more than chenp
« preparations, sold at a high price, and
mainly for their intoxicating properties.
These Ritters nre superior to any that are, or
ever have been offereu to the public. Beiug
punsniuly aromatic, they aro particularly recom
mended to seafaring persons as an antidote a-
gainst tlie Scurvy. Persons laboring under the
infirmities of old age, will find these Bitters to
prove a wholesome, agreeable and invigorating
stomachic cordial, increasing the appetite and as
sisting digestion in a remarkable degreo, removing
those low spirited and trembling sensations, the
sure effect of n want of tone in the system. They
are peculiarly adupted to those who are troubled
with Diurhma, or Weakness of the Bowels, Ac.
prevalent in tlie summer and >qntnmnal months.
They will be ftinnd in all case^of the following
description.to give relief, viz: Jaundice, Weak
Stoinnch, Costiveness, Excessive Weariness,
Losb of Appetite, Dullness nnd Oppression, a
propensity to Sleep, Bitter Tasto in th6 Mouth,

I S highly beneficial in all diseases of the stem-
nch and bowels which are attended with acid-
ityTmnd gives immediate relief to the heartburn.
Tho effects of excess in eating or drinking are
generally relieved by it, and it affords one of the
mildest and most pleasant aperients, especially
to persons who, from a sedentary life or other
causes, are under the frequent necessity of hay
ing recourse to Inxativcs. To persons of a bil
ious or a gouty habit, it may be recommended
with peculiar propriety: and its virtues have been
repeatedly testified in the diseases of warm cli
mates Many of the complaints of children, in
early infancy, and even at more advanced peri
ods, are attended with acidity; and in such cases,
the Calcined Mngnesia lias a great advantage
over other absorhnnts, viz: that it both neutrali
zes the acid in the nlimeiitnry canal, and acts as
an effieqeious yet gentle purgative.

gout, rheumatism, liver complaint aud dyspepsia.
Ill coughs, colds, asthmas, difficulty ofbreathing,
oppression ofthe stomach, Ac. they will give im
mediate and soothing relief; and, for neatness,
pleasantness, safety, ease nnd certainty, are deci
dedly superior to other remedies. Persons whose
business or nvoentions require that they should
sit or stand much, or those of sedentary habits
generally, who may be troubled with pains in the
side or breast, nre advised to try one of these
beautiful and tiurivalled plasters. They are dif-
ferentfrom others, nnd free from objections which
are generally made against plasters. Perhaps
there is no medical observation better established
than that “ Consumption originates in neglected
Colds.” In a climate so variable as ours, it re
quires more care nnd attention to guard against
the attacks of this too often fntal disease, than
most persons nre able and willing to bestow. It
cannot therefore but bo a gratification to tlie sub
scriber to he enabled to offer to all of consump-

in the side or breast, or any affection ofthe breast

Rose Ointment,

ally, are among the ino^t tedious and disagreeable
a flections to which the human frame is liable.
Situated as it were, on the verge of vitality it is
almost impossible to reach them by inward rerne
dies. Hence theinnfficacy of undergoing a course
of medicine, or subjecting ourselvos to the un-
comfortable oynletu ntwi aim. micti means uy
reducing the system merely palliate the symptoms
while they are in practice, to recur ns violently,
or more so.’wheu a generous diet is returned to.
And the generality of external applicntionshave

Rowaiid's Tonic Mixture, or
Vegetable Febrifuge,
A specific and lasting cure for Fever and Ague.
T HIS worthy remedy earnestly repels the slur
of being a quack medicine, it having been
tlie result of many years study, experience nnd
labor, in the tnodical practice aud observation of
Fever nnd Ague. It is composed of such medi
cinal principles as were considered most fit to re
store the harmony of action between the stoinnch,
liver, and the other important functions of tlie
systemUlie loss of which harmony is evidently the
immediate cause of the disease. It speedily pro
motes a regular and healthy appelito which is
generally entirely destroyed or rendered very
precarious; by which effect, vigor nnd strength is
soon afilmled to the whole system. It must be
apparent to all. that a medicine possessing these
peculiar virtues, is useful in a great variety of
complaints. By renewing the healthy action of
the digestive organs, it has proved itself of re
markable benefit in dyspepsia, depraved appetite,
heart-burn, water brash, flatulency, jaundice,
night sweats, dysentery, bowel complaints, and
all other affections of similar origiu, hut it is in
the treatment of Fevers, and especially in Fever
and Agun, or lleoiittent Fever, tlmt its powers
have been principally tested, and with those who
huvo seen its usefulness, it is pronounced sover
eign to all remedies heretotnrn discovered fo
those diseases. It hns also been used as a pre
ventive, by many who were subject to n periodi
cal recurrence of tlie chills und fever, nnd it hns
always warded off the apprehended attack. It
was deemed not improper to accompany the
vegetable febrifuge with n few of tlio many une
quivocal certificates politely furnished to the pro
prietor .corroborative of the foregoing statements.
For further accounts of its great usefulness, seo
pamphlets accompanying each bottle.
