business or avocations require that they should
sit or stand much, or those of sedentary habits

Bowand's Tonic Iflixtnre, or
Vegetable Febrifuge,
A spocific and lasting cure for Fever and Ague,
T HIS worthy remedy earnestly repels the slur
of being a quack medicine, it having been
the result of many years study, experience nnd
labor, in the medical practice and observation of
Fever and Ague. It is composed of such medi
cinal principles ns were considered most fit to re
store fhehnrmony ofaction betwcon the stomach,
liver, and tho other important functions of the
system, the loss of which harmony is evidently the
immediate cause of the disease. It speedily pro
motes a regular und healthy appetite which is
generally entirely destroyed or rendered very
precarious; by which effect, vigor nnd strength is
soon afforded to the whole system. It must he
apparent to nil. that a medicine possessing these
peculiar virtues, is useful in a great variety of
complaints. By renewing the healthy action of
the digestive organs, it hns proved itself of re
markable benefit in dyspepsin, depraved appetite,
heart-burn, water brush, flatulency, jaundice,
night sweats, dysentery, bowel complaints, und
nil other ofl’ections of similar origin, but it in in
the treatment of Fevers, and especially in Fever
nnd Ague, or Remittent Fever, that its powers
have been principally tested, and with thoso who
have seen its usefulness, it is pronouuccd sover
eign to all remedies heretofore discovered fo
those diseases. It hns uiso been used as n pre
ventive, by many who wore subject to n periodi-
cal recurrence of the chills nnd fever, and it hns
always warded off tho apprehended attack. It,
was deemed not improper to accompany tlio
vegetable lebrifugo with n few of tlio many une
quivocal certificates politely furuisltcd to tlio pro
prietor,oorroborntive of Hie foregoing atatomr

Gciatisie Capsules of Pure Co
pal va Balm.
rpHE Copavta Balm is, of nil the medicines
JL employed in combating the chronical nnd
acute gonorrhoeal affections, also tiio blennqrhcea
colled whites; the only one, the specific action of I
which has never been doubted; nnd to which
physicians have in couseqnenco given the prefer
ence; but its nauseous taste and .smell aro tho
causes of its being rejected by many patients.
This is tho reason why so many experiments
hnvo been tnado in order to discover some mode
of disguising its taste, so that it might be taken
with less repugnance; but hitherto this hns been
but imperfectly effected, and always by addition
of *omp active substance which modifies its pro
perties. and thus destroys its chemical constitu
tion and its physical character. I therefore offer
a inode of administering it in such a state tlmt It
cannot occasion tho slightest ronugttaiico, nnd
this without submitting it 10 any alteration. My
method cousists in cuclosiog it in the Gelatine
Capsules.
