sons ofthe yeur, more particularly in the spring
and summer months, when persons of bilious
habits experience that total loss of appetite, di^a
greeahle listlessness and relaxation ofthe system.
They strengthen the stomnch, procure a good ap
petite, promote digestion, purify the blood, and
restore the invalid to liis original strength and
vigor. Most ofthe Bitters with which the mar
ket is now supplied are nothing more than cheap
gruggy preparations, sold nt u high price, and
bonirht mainly for their intoxicating properties.
These Bitters are superior in any that ore, or
ever have been offered to the public. Being
punironlly aromatic, theyviro particularly recom
mended to seafaring persons ns nn antidote a-
sainst the Scurvy. Persons laboring under the
infirmities of old age, will find these Bitters to
prove n wholesome, agreeable and invigorating
stomachic cordial, increasing the appetite and as
sisting digestion in a remarkable degreo, removing
those low spirited and trembling sensations, the
sure effect of a want of tone in the system. They
are peculiarly adapted to those who arc troubled
with Diarlimn, or Weakness ofthe Bowels, Ac.

Vegetable Febrifuge,
A specific mid lustihg cure for Fovft* and Ague.
rjiHIS worthy remedy earnestly repels the slur
A of lining a quack medics lie, it hiving been
the result of inn ny years study, experience and
labor, in the medical practice and observation of
Feterand Ague. It is composed of such medi
cinal prin<.ipit:b as were. cr. uxiJcrcd most fit to re
store the harmony of action between the stomach,
liver, and the oilier important function* of the
system, the loss of which hnrtnony is evidently tho
immddiate cause of the disease. It spoediljjpro-
moles a regular' and healthy appetite which is
generally entirely dertroyed or rendered very
precarious; by which effect, vigor and strengtii fs
soon afforded to the whole system. It must hr
apparent to all. that a medicine possessing these
peculiar virtues, is useful in a great variety of
complaints. By renewing llie healthy action of
the digestive organs, it has proved itself of re
markable benefit in dyspepsia, depraved appetite,
heart-burn, water brush, flatulency, jaundice,
night sweats, dysentery, bowd complaints, and
all other affections of similar origin, but it is in
the treatment of Fevers; and especially in Fever
and Aguo, or Remittent Fever, that its powers
have been principally tested, and with those who
have seen its usefulness, it is pronounced sover
eign to all remedies heretofore discovered fo
those diseases. It has also been used as a pre
ventive, by tunny who were subject to a periodi
cal recurrence of the chills and fever, anu it has
always warded off the apprehended nttack. It
was deemed not improper to accompany tho
vegetable febrifuge with a few of the. pinny une
