A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Bch fcflion of the
feccnd article of the confhtution of I
this slate, it is declared that the Governor I
(hall have power to convene the general af
femblv on extraordinary occasions.
And whereas the legislature of this
(late, at their iefiion in November ißoa, Re
folved,that, in the event of the ratification of
rhe lare treaty between the United States and
the Creek Indians, for the ceftion of cenain
lands to the slate, the Governor be requested
to convene the general aflembiy as loon there*
after as circumitances would permit.
And whereas I have received information
of the ratification of the afordaid treaty, and
other matters of importance require the de
liberation of the legislature—l have there
fore thought fir, to blue this my proclamati
on, appointing Monday the 18th day ol
April next the time for the meeting of the
general aflembiy at Louii v.lic the feat of go
vernment —and Ido hereby enjoin and re
quire the attendance of the fevcral members
of the rdpedtive b anciies thereof on the day
and the place above* mentioned.

der a charge of Murder, in the com-*
men jail oi the said county, did on the
27th ultimo, make his escape therefrom
—1 have therefore thought fit to issue
this my proclamation, offering a re
ward of one hundred dollars, to anv
per (on or persons who will apprehend
the said William Champion, and hit*
Rifely, lodge iufome secure jail within
this Rate.
And 1 do hereby charge and require
Ji officers, civil and urinary belonging
to this state, to be aiding an affiffing iu
apprehending and fecuririg the laid
offender, lb that he may be brought,
by a due course of law, to an fiver to the
charge allcdged againfl him.
