AS complaints have been made,and
great inconveniences said (o exist in car
rying the Patrol Law into execution, for
remedy whereof, the Colonel orders and
efiredts the Officers commanding the i
Four Line companies in the lit Batalion,
Chatham Regiment of Militia, to enroll
all the white male inhabitants within
their several beats from the age of ftxteen
toftxty years©/ age, (zs weli hone as
alarm men) as also all fueh women as are
pointed out by the said acf, (except fach
persons as do produce certificates from
the Fire Companies, No. 1 and 2, Artil
lery, Rangers and Guards, as being atten
tive memoers of duty) and the aforefaid
officers, commencing with the iff com
pany in order, will furniih ten men for
guard, each night, positively at 8 o’clock,
armed and equipped as the said atftdi
redts : and tnc captain or one of his Sub
alterns will attend with the Adjutant
eften as convenient, to fee the Guatd ftt
and fee that no person is taken as a sub
stitute unless he is known to the adjutant
(or officer who may at rend with h in) to
