Capt. Perry informs, it was reported at
Havana, that the Enterprize, Capt. Kear
ney, had captured a piratical boat ft - Cape
Antonio, landed, and burnt their tints.
Matanzas was blockaded by the indc-j
nendencia, and one other Patriot* vessel
Several Spanish men <>f war were in M-*-
vrr.a, but they did not attempt to raise the
blockade,
Capt. Perry has politely favored us with
Sierra Leone Gazettes, to Oct. 27 if, and a
file of Jamaica papers to the 13tii Decem
ber inclusive. The former announce, a
tnortjr others tlie following deaths on the
Gold Coast—Klmina, the Dutch Governor;’
Accra, governor general .of the Danish
settlements, and Gov. Gordon, of the Eng
lish settlement.
It is said the American Colonization so
ciety contemplated making an establish
ment on the Gold Coast.
Early in Oct. a deputation arived at Si
erra Leone from the King of the Fonlahs,
headed by Prince Alisa Sailoo, under whose
protec ion came a Mahometan Priest and
his wife. This singular man had journey
ed ail the way from Egypt to the Mandin
go nation. It was said he possessed im
portant information relative to the Geo
gt aphy of the in tenor of Africa, but so much
caution was observed by the British resi
dents at Sierra Leone, that very little of
his information was made public. It was
however, stated that he had passed through
Tombuct. o, and that lie was of the opinion
the Niger and the Nile were one arid the|
same river.
It was estimated at Sierra Leone, that \
50.000 slaves had been sent from tlie coast j
within the last 12 months.
The Shark landed Mr. Ayres, agent of
the American Colonization Society, at Si
ena Leone on tlie2oth Oct.
The Jamaica papers state that'the Shark
arrived at Port Iloyal on the Bth Decem
ber, and saluted Fort Chaile- with 13 guns,,
which was returned by tlie Field Artillery
of the g in ison.
The British ship of war Athol, was to

Tonnage of Baltimore. —During the year 1820,
there whs collected for Tonnage, in the port of
Baltimore, 5,366 05; and in 18 1, §.5,351
Commerce of Boston. ‘ 854 vessels arrived at
the port of Boston, from Foreign Countries, du-;
ring the tear 1821— of which 7 belonged to Eng-;
l bind, and 20 to Sweden. I i‘ e clearances tor
i Foreign ports during the same period, acre 61 j,
j—43 for ports beyond Cape Horn and Good
Hope. In addition to the. above, there were 189
vessels licensed in that port for the Cod and
Mackerel fishery; 9f or the whale fishery; and!
391 for the coasting trade.
Three schrs arriv and at New-York on the 18th!
inst. from the brig Native, from this port, ashore
lon Hempstead Bar, which she left on the morn-!
I ing of the 16th. The cargo was all got out with- ’
out damage, and it was expected the brig
