McDonald*
We wera at Marietta yesterday, and heard
Judge Jackson’s address. Ii was amongst the
finest efforts of the kind we ever beard. For
an hour and a half he held his vast audience
speel-boundjwith his eloquent portrayal of the
many interesting and instructive characteris
tics and incidents of the life of the noble and
tba upright McDonald. The ladies were out—
the McDonald Guards and the Georgia Cadets
in full uniform attended. The Church Choir
sang two appropriate hymns. It wss a solemn
occasion. Every body loved Charles J. Mc
Donald ; and it was pleasant to witness the
earnest tribute to his worth as a man, which
all seemed more then anxious to pay.
We hope to be able to lay Judge Jackaon’s
Eulogy before our readers In cur next issue.
