Alexandria, May 4.—There are now aix
thousand troopa at Annapolis. Sevan bun
drad left there last night, bound out. They
are to land near Baltimore, and are to eo*op*
erate with tha troopa approaching that eity
from tba North.
Several parsons hava been arrested in the
neighborhood of Annapolis as spies. Soms had
made ao aocurate survey and minute details of
tha operations there.
The sloop of-war Alleghany, the Forward,
the Baltic, and the Kedar are off Annapolis.
Travel between Perrysville and Annapolis
is uninterrupted.
Twelve steamers are on tba route.
The Railroad between Annapolis aod Wash
ington is guarded by Federal troopa.
It is supposed (hst the Baltimore and Ohio
Railroad will soon be made a Military Road.
Alexandria to be Occupied by Federal
Troopa—Llncolu at the Navy Yard.
Albxabdiiia, May 5.—This oity, it is ex
pected, will he occupied by Federal troops to
morrow, who will advance from Washington
City by the Long Bridge.
Five transports, with men and munitions,
passed up to Washington to day.
Lioooin visited and iuspectcd the Navy
Yard to-day.
New York Troops Impatient at Delay.
New York. May 5.—Companies of Volun
teers from the interior of the State are con
stantly arriring. The enrollment in the city
continues with spirit; but some dissatisfac
tion is expressed at the delay in the move
ment of the troops. There appears to be mis
management somewhere.
Continentals and Resigned U. 8. Officers.
Mobil*, May 5.—The fine compeuy of Con
tinentals—numbering ooe hundred and sixty
men—left for Montgomery to day. There
s also on board the steamer, several re
signed Federal Military officers from Texas,
intending to offer their services to the Con
federate Government.
There is nothing of interest from Pensacola.
It is reported that this Port will be blocks
ded to-morrow.

Yesterday’s business wan duller than usual.
Being the opening of tha weak, buyers hava
not ynt arrived. Quite a number of orders hava
bean filled, however, at onr laat quoUtioaa.
Corn is in brisk demand, and price* rule firm
at 96@$1.
Bacon is Ui@)2,13i@14,16*@11, for Skoal
ders, Hams aad Bides. Heavy stocks, and hol
ders firm.
Flour is steady at $6@$9 for estramaa.
Lard is moving freely at IS!@14. Other Pro
visions in fair demand with good stooks.
Thera is fair stocks of Sugars, Coffees and
Molasses ia store, and can be obtained on fa
vorable tarma.
Dry Goods, Bools and Shoes, Hardware, Fur
niture and all hranobas of trade seam to ha
moviag steadily.
Tha trade ia MiliUry Goods is immense, and
every arrangement has been made to fill large
orders.
MONETARY.
No new items to qnote. Specie continues at
a fair premium in eonsequence of tha demand.
Nothing doing in New York Exchange. Borne
small trades of Tennessee funds made at 2!
premium. No WasUrn funds of consequence
in market.
No river news to report with the exception
that the steamer Gen. Anderson arrived from
Cairo direct on Saturday at Nashville. Cum
herland River falling. Beven feet water on
shoals. Tha Hillsiuan's cargo is all complete
except the following goods—ao eava tha Nash
ville Patriot: 3,498 pigs lead, 968 kegs powder;
151 keg shot; 8 kegs lead; 44ft bundles bar
lead; 2 boxes gun caps, and 9 cases guns.
