Our H.nrenly Home.
Our Father's mansions In the skies—
The glorious realms of Paradise-
Hare late received full many a guest ;
At their Redeemer’s high behest,
They're Uken home
Both young and old have trod the path,
Have pasted the porUle of death,
And reaching Zion's gates so fair,
Havt been received with rapture there
They’re safe at heme.
At home I the words sound very sweet,
While yet, with weary pilgrim feet,
We onward press upon the way
That leads to everlasting day.
Our heavenly home.

The Border Land.
“ The time of my departure is at band 2
Tim iv. 6.
Aged Christian, thy day is far spent, tbjr
journey is nearly ended. The greatest part of
the wilderness is behind thee. Thou bast trav
eled many a weary mile, and has spent many
n sorrowful day. But thou hast not muoh
farther to go. Thon hast not many more days
to spend here. Thou art just on tht edge of
the wilderness, on the borders of the promis
ed land. Soon, very soon, thy Lord will seod
bis message to call ibee home. The year of re
lease is just at hand. Do not therefore five
wny to fenr. Do not hang down thy head like
a bulrush, but look up, for their redemption
drnweth nigh.
Let us talk together a little of the past, ths
present, and the future; end let us try and
comfort one another with God's own precious
words. His words are sweet and profitable,
or, as Solomon says, "Pleasant words sre as
an honeyoomb, sweet to the soul, and health
to the bones.”
We have not much lime left, let us not waste
it. We have not far to go, 1st us not loiter.—
We are in the border oountry, let us expect
visits from "Me better land.'* We are hasting
from danger and n oountry that is doomed;
let us not look back. Every step now brings
us sensibly Bearer home. Every hour tells,
and the last hour will soon be here.
Let us attend to the Apostle's admonition,
"This I say, brethren, the time is short; it
remainetb, that they both have wives be as
though they had none; aud they that weep
as though they wopt not; and they that re
joice, as though they rejoiced not; and they
that bay, as though they possessed not; and
they that use this world, as not abusing it;
for the fashion of this world passeth away.—
But I would have you without carefulness.
Anxiety about temporal things does not be
come us now. The world is to us like an inn,
where we lodge to-night but shall leave to*
morrow.
"The world passeth away; but he that
doeth th# will of God abideth forever.”—John
it 17.
Tbare Is a Saviour.
" He shall send them a Saviour, and a great
one, and he shall deliv«r them.”—Isai. xix.
20
Reader, her# is good news for thee. Good
news from heaven. There is a Saviour.
God has beoome man, that he may be the
Saviour of his sinful creatures. He earns in
to our world. lie took our place. He became
a sacrifice for our sins. He wrought a work,
he offered a sacrifice on the ground of whioh
you may be saved.
No matter who you are, or what you are,
Jesus can save yon. There are no limits to
the merits of his blood. Tber# are no ex
ceptions in his invitations. He bat love enough
to save. He haameroy enough to acceept you.
He has merit enough to delivec you from all
our sias, and to justify you completely and
eternally in the sight of God.
He has power enough to subdue your ini
quities, to conquer your foes, and to render
you more than a oonquerer. Jesus Is just
suited to you, and you are just suited to Je
sus. He can save you and render you eternal
ly happy; and you ean glorify His grace,
and praise His most blessed name forever.
Jesus oan get honor by saving you, and you
ean get an e*ernal salvation from Jesus. He
■ought the offioe of Saviour, sod He obtained
It. He wss named Jesus, because He came to
save, aad He has earned the name.
Remember you need not perish, for there lea
Saviour; you will not perish, either because
Jesus was unable or unwilling to save you.—
He can save you without effort, he tcul save
you with joy, if you will go to Him.
He is God, and oan save; He is God-man,
and will save. He says, " Look unto me, aad
be saved, all ye ends of the earth, for 1 am
God, and there is none else. I, even I, am the
Lord, and beside me there is no Saviour.”
" Call His name Jesus, for He shell save His
people from their ains.”—Matt. 1: 21.
