The tele graph operator at Piedmont fled on the ap proach of th# Southerners. Communication between Grafton and other point* is now cut off. The Southerners in Western Missouri are being largely reinforced. Cairo, June 20,—Newcomb was arrested on charge of treason, but subsequently re leased. Washington, June 20.—Lieut. Stark, for merly of the Regular Army, commanded at Vienna. Joa. H. Lane, of Kansas, has been made a Brigadier General. The bridge over Goose Creek, near Leas- burg, has been burned.
