Parsons, said to have been received in Jeffer*

surrounded Zeigler’s force and demanded a
surrender. Zeigler deeired to surrender bis
men without their arms; but Parsons insisted
on an unconditional surrender, which was
complied with. Among the killed was Col. B.
Gratx Brown and Captain Solomon Kallman
Wolfe.

State Cavalry appeared at Monroe Station,
Missouri, and routed the Federalists there—
burned the station house, 6 coaches, 18 ears,
and torn up the traok on the East side of the
town. A messenger is hers for assistance,
and reports Col. Smith and fifty men prison
ers. [This is on he Hannibal and 8t. Jo
seph's railroad, in Northern Missouri. Monros
is 30 miles West of the Missouri River.]
