Army Movements.
We lay before our readers this morning an
important dispatch; announcing that Gen.
Beaun-gard and siatf are on their way to
Richmond, and that the greater part of the
army will soon follow. We have been ex
pecting as much ever since Gen. Price pass*
ed through here on his way to Richmond a
week ago; indeed, we have been unable to
see how there could be any more fighting out
West. Beauregard's masterly retreat from
Corinth knocked every Y’ankee calculation
into pi, and was equally as disastrous to
their cause and designs as a severe drub
bing, while the loss or damage to us was
very slight.
The Y ankecs are not going to tight us nway
from water, in an open field. We felt sure
Halleck would not follow Beauregard when
he left Corinth ; and he would uot penetrate
aDy further into the interior if the whole
army were withdrawn. Let Beauregard be
sent to Richmond, Bragg to Cumberland Gap,
and Price over into Arkansas. There is a
chance to do something at these points.
P. S —Since the foregoing was in type,
wo have conversed with an officer in Beau
regard’s army, who says it was understood
in the army two woeks ago, that he and his
command were going to Virginia. Thi3 offi
cer left Montgomery Monday. Beauregard
was then expected at that place. It was
also understood that he was going to take
command of Stonewall Jackson’s Depart*
ment.
We recollect that Beauregard is under a
promise to the Ladies of Baltimote to carry
back to that city a certain flag which they
presented to him, and plant it iu triumph
over their down-trodden metropolis.
(.Commualcikted.)
To the Ladies.
Atlanta, June 17, 18G2.
The following letter was received by Mrs.
Isaac Winship, the President of the Ladies’
Hospital Association, from Dr. J. M. John
son, Surgeou of thie post. It speaks for
itself; and we feel sure that no other ap
peal will be necessary. The ladies have done
nobly in this work ; but they must not be
satisfied with past efforts, while there is so
much need for lurtfcer exertions. Under
standing there would be no permanant Hos
pitals at this place, the liberal donations al
ready sent here, were forwarded to Corinth
and Columbus, Mississippi, for the use of
the siek and wounded from Beauregard's
army. A change having been made, the
Government is now about to establish very
large, permanent hospitals in tLis city.—
Many of the sick have already arrived, in a
very destitute condition, and supplies of all
kinds are greatly needed. Let each one who
reads this, think in her heart of her own hus
band, father, sou or brother, and give, as
she would love to think seme kind, though
unknown hand, would minister to her owu
loved ones, should they be called upon to
languish and suffer in tome hospital, iar
from home and friends, and 9he will meet
her reward in that day when it shall be said,
“Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of
the least of these my brsthrea, ye have done
it unto me.”
City papers, and papers throughout this
and neighboring Stales, friendly to the cause,
are requested to copy this notice, and Aux
iliary societies every where to send forward
at once such supplies as they can obtain:
Atlanta, G.A.,*June 14, 1862.
Madam: I have been trying to find time to
call on you for the last two days, to ask
once more the co-operation of your patriotic
Society in making provision for the sick sol
diers.
I expect one thousand sick here tc day,
and a thousand more to-morrow. 1 have
many difficulties in the way of prodding for
them. The Purveyor informs me he has no
sheets, or but few, and that all artie’es of
bedding are scarce. We also want vinegar,
fruit, and vegetables, in large quantities, to
prevent and cure the scurvy, which has made
its appearance in the army, and threatens to
become alarming.
I have not time to write, nor is it neees-
sary to do more than apprise vour noble
Society of the wants of the poor unfortu
nates, who are to arrive in large numbers
every day. They are our country's defend
ers, and are entitled to our gratitude and
sympathy.
I am very truly yours,
JNO. M. JOHNSON,

Bon. John H. Reagan.
Postmaster-General Reagan is at present
in our city, having been called here by the
severe illness of his wife, who has been stay
ing in our city for some months past. Her
attack is of Typhoid fever, and has been one
. of considerable severity, though we are hap
py to say she is now thought to be out of
danger. Mr. Reagan is in good heglth.

P. S.—I will state that our only object for
wishing to sell is, that Capt C. R. Hanieiter
is in the Army, and is determined to fight
the Yankees as long as the war lasts, and the
state of my health has been for the last four
months past agd is now, such as to incapaci
tate me to attend to the arduous labor of su
perintending the large business of the office
which is now thrown entirely upon me.
That the business pats well, no one will
doubt who will put himself to the trouble to
