POROUS ISINGLASS
ADHESIVE PLASTER.
COMBIAEU WITH ARNICA.
F OR strapping after surgical operations, and as a dress
ing to eithor incised"or lacerated wounds, it does
not peel off, is cleanly, of easy application, adheres firmly,
and Doing spread upon a tliiu porous fabric, secures to il
ah advantage over uny other plaster ever before offered to
the public. It is the desideratum long wished fur; supply
ing tothe Surgeon a Plaster to beusod at any moment, and
without heat, producing uo infiamation, no curling of the
edges, hut fitting closely upon the most uneven surfaces,
and being porous allows the escape of heat and morbid
matters, thus removing a direct source of pain and irrita
tion. Patronized largely by the Confederate government.

Opinions of some of our Celebrated Surgeons.
Bartow Hospital, Savannah, Ua., April 23,1862.
Gentlemen: In reference to your plaster, we use nothing
else, we have nothing else, we need nothing eiso. It is con
sidered indispensable in field surgery—as the common ad
hesive plaster cannot be used on the field without grcai
inconvenience. I most cordially endorse every w..ri> that
has been said or written in Us praise.
Respectfully, yours, Ac., H. II. FLINT, M. D
Medical Directors - Optics, Charleston, S. C.
Messrs. J. II. Zeilin it Co.:
Gentlemen: I have tested yonr Isinglass Piaster and
find it an excellent article; possessing,as you say, tenacity
with flexibJbility. I take pleasuro in recommending it to
army Surgeons, to bo used in all cases whero this kind of
plaster is indicated. Very respectfully,
R. A. K1NLOCH, Surgeon,
A'i,d Medical Director Department S. C. and On.
• General Hospital, Waynesville, Ga.
Gentlemen: I have made a trial of Danforth’s Isinglass
Adhesive Plaster, and am pleased to say that I legard it iu
all respects superior to Husband’s. It has au additional
claim upon the profession of the Confederacy iu being of
home origin and manufactui e.
Yours respectfully, H. L. BIRD, M. D.,

vs. >- Superior Court of Fulton county,
Clark Besgerlv, J Georgia.
Present, the Hon. 0. A. Bull, Judge of said Court.
I T appearing to the Court, by the petition of William
Barnes, that on the first day of May, in the year of our
Lord eighteen hundred and sixty-one, Clark Beggerly, ot
said county, made and delivered to said Barnes twelve
promissory notes for fifty dollars each, aud one for ten dol
lars, all due ou» day after date; and that afterwards, on
the thirty-first day of May iu said year, to secure the pay
ment of said instruments, executed and delivered to said
Barns*, yonr petitioner, his deed of mortgage, wheraby he
conveyed to him city lot one hundred and twenty, on land
lot fifty-two, in the fourteenth district of originally Henry,
cow Fulton county, bounded north by the eouthern limit
of the right of way of the Georgia Railroad, and running

NOTICE.
C. S. ENGINEER’S OFFICE, 1
Savannah, Ga, July 22,1862. /
M ANY inquiries having been addressed to this office as
to the conditions of exemption from contributing
labor to the defence of Savannah, the Brigadier General
commanding instructs me to state:
1st. That while the planters ot the middle counties will
be those specially called upon, those of the seaboaid coun
ties will not be consideied by any means entirely bxempt.
2d That a previous contribution of Jubor for & less terzu
than one month will not exempt any planter from the pre
sent contribution.
3d. That wherever planters have been compensated tor
their previous contributions of labor to the coast defences
by exemption during the year from road duty, or by other
exemption in kind, they will be considered as Laving al
ready received an eqnivaJentfcr their former contributions,
aud will therefore be rtquii'ed to furnish labor in response
to the present call.
4tb. As the works approach completion, aud the labor
ing force is reduced, those Degrees will first t-e discharged
whose masters had contributed to the coast defences pre
viously to the present call.
The Brigadier General commanding also instructs me to
state that be earnestly hopes that tne planters will hold
meetings in the several counties, aud apportion the con
tribution of labor among themselves, and relieve him from
the most unpleasaut duty of resorting to forcible seizure.
A contribution of 20 per cent, of the laboring force of
each county will soon supply abundant labor to bring the
works rapidly to completion. Women will be received os
laborers up to a number amounting to 10 per cent, of the
whole laboring force, after which no more women will be
received.
Wherever the planters ot a neighborhood make up a
gang of 10o negroes, they may elect their own overseer of
said gang, and he will be employed In that capacity by this
office. JNO. McCRADY,
Oapt. C. S. P. Engineers, in charge.
