power for forwoiding private packages of clothing or
other necessaries, intended jbr Georgia soldiers in any
I-ortion of the field of war, and to use aU diligence for
treoriug tteir reception by the parties to whom they
may be addressed. 1 do, therefore, give notice that the
Associstion will cheerfhUy undertake ths discharge of
this duty and perforin it to the beet of it* ability. We
have already made arrangements lor dlepatchir g regular
and careful messengers, two or thTce times every week,
whose office requires him to accompany the packages ca
irns ted to their care until they are actually delivered Into
the hands of onr Agents in Richmond. We have other
employees who are similarly engaged In conveying goods
lo Chattanooga, intended for Georgians in the armies ot
the West. from Richmond and Chattanooga they will be
distributed to the parties whose names they hear, by per
sons there employed for this purpose; or will be stated in
onr warehouses In those cities until called for, if no means
shall exist for transporting them farther, or if the con
signee* cannot be found.
