lines closely. Jackson Tenn-, is reported

The riser at Memphis has fallen seven feet
from the highest point, and is mill falling
eight inches a day;
The water in Yazoo pass is too low and
rapid for navigation. But few boats now go
up and down the Mississippi.
The water in the Yazoo river at Fort Pem
berton is 4 feet 8 inches below the highest
point and is falling three and a half inches
