A DARK BAY HORSE,
About fourteen and a half hands high, the two
hind and one fore foot believed to be white,
unusually rough about the same from the hair
having been occasionally cut off, somewhat
wingalled, a few’ white spots on his back occa
sioned by the saddle, the hair in his cars latch
cut, crest fallen, black flowing mane and switch
ed tail. At the time of having strayed or being
stolen, he had on a large red and mixed rug, to
the et.d of which was attached two patches of
leather, for the purpose of securing the same at
his breast Said horse trots, paces and gallops
finely, supposed to be about 8 or 9 years old
w r as purchased of captain George Watkins—no
brands recollected.
If stolen, a rewml of 100 dollars v, ill be giv
en for the apprehension of the thief, and ten
dollars for the horse, and all reasonable charges

halter on him when lie went away.

A NEGRO MAN, NAMED
PLATO.
It is presumed his height is about five feet ten
or eleven inches ; his complexion of the Afri
can, though a native ; rather meagre visage,
thick lips, stout uose and large eyes—his hands
and feet are rather larger than proportionate,
and his fingers long and tapering. No scars re
collected but one, occasioned by a burn or some
other cause, on one of his hands. He is about
24 years of age, well made, except a little in
clination of his knees, and speaks sensibly, lfis
dress not recollected. Having relations in Sa
vannah and on st. Helena, s. c. it is supposed he
may make for either the one place or the oth
er; but from some conversation be had with
his fellow boat-hands previously to his abscond
ing, it is likely he may attempt an escape to
st. Mary’s, and from thence to the Spanish
possessions.
I lie above reward and all reasonable ex
penses will be paid to any one for bis appre
hension and safe delivery into any jin I in
South Carolina or Georgia, and for informa
tion thereof sent to the post-office of Au
gusta, Geo.

or yellow complected fellow named BUTLKK,
about 24 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high,
stout limbed, likely, and very civil when spoken
to, and generally so with his companions ; very
capable of all kinds of plantation work, and han
dy with carpenters’ tools, is a good driver of
horses, and a complete maker and burner of
bricks; sensible an 1 smart; bad on when he
went off, a large whits hat with broad brim, a
round-about jacket and trowsers of bearskin
cloth, and absconded on the night of tbeßt.li Oc
tober. The above reward wall be given, and if
brought to Savannah all reasonable expences
will be paid, in addition.
