color, or pale black, large
coarse features, thick beard,
a scar on the under bp, a bit cut off the rim of
the right ear, when spoken to he has a diffident
downcast look. ml appears very submissive,
when he talks has generally a drawling tone to
his words, but when lively, can speak as spright
ly as any one, he is a good carpenter. He has
taken avvav with him sundries of ootton cloths,
and none of them very coarse, he had on when
he went away, a dark brown broadcloth surtout
coari rather worse for wear, a good pair of strong
shoes, a good old hat, a pair of new blankets,
London duffils, striped at the ends; he calls
himself when away from home, Isaac, and proba
bly he may call himself by some other name ;
he is a native of South-Carolina, his first master’s
name was Hendrix, the second Bendender,
living on the fork of Broad river, within a few
miles of Columbia, and probably he has made
for there again. Any person lodging him in any
jail in this state, or within sixty miles of Augusta,
in South-Carolina, shall receive the above re
ward, and all reasonable charges, by applying to

Thirty Hollars Reward,
“STILL be given for apprehending and lodg-
T T ing in any jail in or out of the state, a light
or vellow complected fellow named BUTLER,
about 24 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high,
stout limbed, likely, and very civil when spoken
to, and generally so with his companions; very
capable of all kinds of plantation work, and han
dy with carpenters* tools, is a good driver of
horses, and a complete maker and burner of
bricks; sensible and smart; had On when he
went off, a large white hat w ith broad brim, a
round-about jacket and trow’sers of bearskin
cloth, and absconded on the night of the Bth Oc
tober. The above reward will be given, and if
brought to Savannah all reasonable expences
will be naid, in addition.

Office for the sale of Negroes.
THE subscriber has removed his office from
his store near the exchange, to the house
he occupies adjoining that of Peter Mitchell,
esq. on Bay-street continued, where he will as
usual give attention to the disposal of negroes
and other property, real estate, horses,carriages,
&c. Negroes sent to him for sale will he taken
care of at 25 cents per day till sold. All com
missions of property confided to him must be
accompanied with written orders, and the char
acter and qualities of negroes stated. He has
now on hand several slaves for sale, of various
qualifications, and exertions will he used to pro
cure house servants and field hands when re
quired, and from his long habit of dealing in
that species of property, flatters himself that lie
can give umplc satisfaction in the sale or pur
chase of such. He has now lor sale u House and
