Plantation, onSapelo High Point, by his Over
leer, who appeared to be vim away ; he was
found naked, and pen Thing with colcl; afterb --
ing efi-thed and attended, the N gro took near
fix weeks before he recovered ; he calls hitn
lelf DICK, about four f.-et fix inches high, has
a large bead, feet, and mouth ; he will not ac
knowledge to whom he belongs.—The fubferi
ber has ro-ained him on the Iffirnd. not know'-
ing the mode to pursue in this cale, he wrote
fev ral times to Citizen Charles Harris, attor
ney at lav,-, but received no answer, and thus
the Negro has remained in bis poflelfionfince.

a ship’s cabin, which unluckily produced no

would harbour him, look up thei, plate ; he
deserted from this poll the 3th inst. in his uni
form ; OLIVER HANCOCK, a Filer, from
Malfachufetts, 25 years of age, five feet five in
ches high, grey eyes, long sandy hair, well
built, by occupation a blacksmith ; under
dands furnace work and engraving, has a great
(hare ot impudence, is an impertinent talker,
entertains an irreconcileabledifguft towards the
right article of the decalogue, and is a cowa
ard. Mr. Hancock has talents and accoinplifh
ments peculiarly calculated for a horfe-thief, -
counter,eitor of money, or an itenerant Metho
did preacher : He deserted from this Poll, 2gth
ind. in uniform.
Whoever will apprehend them that they may
be brought to juflice, diall receive the above
Reward and neceilary charges, or Tea Dollars
