faith, That, on the igth day orjanuary. 1787,
in Savannah, he lent Samuel Stirk, now
deceafrd. Three hundred pounds in Cttfh, for which
he took said Slirk’s Note, payable the ill of
January following (with imereti from the date.)
That fume time in 1788, on his passage from
St. Catharine’s to Sunbury, in a boat, he loft his
Pocket Book, with many Notes and Papers,
overboard, arnongft which papers, was the
identical Note above stated ; which Note has
•icver been since found or frard of, nor is it
pofTmle it ever should, as it w as, dropt in the
Piver or Sound.
