THE WEEKLY TIMES.
A more important election, in its moral effects, on
both the enemies and friends of the South, titan thfit
snow pending, has never takefi place in Georgia. N
Frecsoiler, Abolitionist or Federalist in the North,
but is looking with intense and eager interest for the
election of Howell Cobb, and of Union members to
Congress. They have seen Georgia bow in acquies
j cence to wrongx —wrongs, admitted by the receiver
i and the doer ; and now they’ are waiting to see her
I kiss the rod that smote her and honor the hands that
! betrayed her. Having drank the cup of injustice,
j may this cup of humiliation pass from the lips of
] Georgia. By all that is honorable and manly, let us
I not heap honors and rewards on the public servants
I who have betrayed us. If our rights are gone, we
| can at least preserve our self-respect, and not stultify
I ourselves in the eyes of mankind by showing that
j we have not sense enough to know that we have
j been cheated. Spare ns this jeer, from the insulting
i and mockintr North!
| Deeply desirous to save our noliie State from this

We call upon our Southern Rights friends

; and we make the invocation in the name of the cause.
! We hop.’ that the vo : ceof the ‘‘Timer” may be heard
[ beyond its own bailiwick—in Cherokee and on the

i on the banks of tile Chattahoochee to which its echoes
have been hitherto princ’pnllv confined. We say to our
Southern Rights friends, their presses throughout the
State are nobly doing their duty ; but in vain do they i
glow with the fervor of a zealous patriotism : in vain
are they eloquent in manner, trenchant in matter,
powerful in argument, withering in invective —all in
deed, that the champions of liberty and justice should
be, in brilliancy and force, if readers are not found
for them. Editors cannot furnish their own read

nowledce is alone wanting to the people to beat
the man who insults them with the falsehood that the

holiest indignation on this bold humbug of impudent

THE undersigned bogs leave to inform his friends and the
public, that he has become the Proprietor ofthi9 celebra
ted Watering Place, and will be preuared to receive visitors

It is needless to speak of the “Chalybeate” as a summer
resort. The salubrity of its climate, and the powerful medi
cinal virtues of its waters have been enjoyed and tested by
thousands. The Proprietor has only to ad<s, that in addition
to these first requisites of a summer residence, he has spared
no efforts to ado all the comforts and luxuries of a good Ho
tel. The best cooks, servants and fare that the country will
afford, a fine band of music, and all the amusements usually
found at such places, have been provided.
His terms will be moderate.—All he asks is a trial.
Passengers on the stage route from Barnesville to Colum
