NEGATIVE ELECTRIC FLUID,
Prepared 1 >y N. W. Sent, M. D.
Reasons why it should lie used instead of any other treat
ment in all Febrile affoctioiiH :
Ist.— Economy of Time.— As only one-seventh
f the ordinary time is required to effect a cure.
2rt—Economy ofMuuy,-As it costs but one
dollar.
dril.-Economy of Peeling.— As it saves the
suiVerin.4 of a loug sickness and the consequent treat
ment; the annoyance of taking nauseating doses of
medicine, .their disagreeable opciutiott, and the pain of
long confinement: but little of the fluid being necessary,
and that pleasant in its effects.
dill.—-Economy of Tliouglil. —As when
known, it will remove all dread anil anxiety at present
existing, respecting febrile affections; particularly while
a dear friend is sick.
sti&—Economy of Health.—As the system
is not reduced, and consequently lacked; nor is the fever
subject to be followed by chronic disease.
Dill.—Economy of Life. -As the euro ia effected
betoiv anil without roiluciug the patient, consequently
removing, in a corresponding degree, all danger of a fatal
termination.
Other renM’Us might be added, but those are detuned
sufficient to satisfy all classes and persons in all condi
tions of life.
The above mwons are more particularly applicable to
Ibe immediate treatment on the first attack, but will
apply with equal force to cases which have been subject
ed to or have become reduced, corresponding of course
*<> the nature oftbe ease at tlie tijne it is first, admint*
tored.
As this remedy gives so prompt, effect uni and perma
nent relief, in all ordinary cases, when used soon after
the attack, persons . on scarcity ■ realize that they had
been really much sick, and very naturally conclude they
were not attacked with fever, and if so. “it was trilling
—a little cold, which gave alarm—it could have been
nothing of consequence it would have passed off with
out anything—that medicine had noetteet. ,, The general
impression on the object of lever is such, that.thoughts
uot unlike the above follow the cun* of a common case
as naturally as men think at all; and it is not until
the individual has witnessed many casern Mint he can fully
realize the truth: and even then he may conclude them
all very trilling ca-es. which would have readily yielded
to any simple medicine, yet persons, though they have
been thus successful in perhaps hundreds of cases, must
expect that (here will cases occur Where there is soma
organic or local cause so great a : to require particular
attention, or though successful in reducing tho lever,
it will again rise as tlie iutluence of the *‘ Fluid*’ passe*
olf, as the exciting eause may still exist. It is to guard
against disappointment in Midi cases that l have given
and frequently refer to what 1 have enlled a “synopsis’*
Remarks on Fevers in General*
On thi* subject I wish to he fully understood. By tha
term ••fevers,” I comprehend all-febrile affections to
whjcli the human frame is subject, including small pox
and other eruptive fevers*, hut as they arise by a great
variety of causes, and in quite dissimilar constitution*
ami ‘habits, tiny of courM* differ considerably in their
development and exhibit, n variety of forms or types;
yet all are distinguished by the same general character
istics—that ol undue excitement ill the circulatory and
nervous systems —inducing more nr less unNatural fre
quency in the pulse, sense of befit, dryness of the skin,
debility, Ac.
To show that 1 am not wholly alone in the opinion 1
advance, 1 quote from tin* cclelirafed Prof. T. Watson,
of King's College, London, whose work on the “ Prftici
pies and Practice of Physic’’ is a text hook in many of
our medieal yollegVs. ami consequently yfumhmtnuthorii”

The above is a great fact, one worthy of remembrance
ami 1 would impress on your minds the folly of hunting
up or troubling .von sell about a ‘ if you have

(by myself and others) under a, great variety ol cir
cumstances, seasons and climate*. Hear this in mind,
and treat at once without regard to name, and rest
assured you will soon be freed from all dread of linger
ing and dangerous levers. But as cases nifty have be
