Reasons why it should he used instead of any other treat meat in all Febrile affections: Dt—Economy of Time. —As only ene-semuh <*f the ordinary time is required to effect a cure. fid—Economy of Money.— As it costs but one dollar. Kli—Economy of Thought. —As when known.it w ill remove all dread and anxiety ut present existing, respecting febrile affections; particularly while a dear friend is sick. sth. Economy of Health.—As the system is not reduced, and consequently racked; nor is tlie fevei subject to he followed by chronic discus*. ttlh. -Economy of Lift*. As the euro is effected he tore aud without reducing the patient, consequently removing, iu a corresponding degree, all danger of a fatal termination. other reasons might he added, hut these are deemed sufficient to satisfy ail clashes an I persons in all eondi tions of life. The above reasons ar • more particularly applicable to the immediate treatment on the first attack, but will apply with equal force to cuses Which have been subject ed to or have become reduced, corresponding id* course 4(> the nature ot the race at the time if is first admiuis tonal. As this remedy gives so prompt, effectual and perma nent relief, in all ordinary eases, when used soon after the attack, persons can scarcely realtv.e that they had been really much i* k. and very naturally conclude they were not attacked with fiver, audit’ so, St was trifling —a little cold, which gave alarm—it could have been nothing of consequence--it would have passed oft with out anything—that medicine bad noffect.’’ The general iinprcssi*)it on I Jo- subject of fever is such, that thoughts not unlike the above follow the cure of a common case as naturally as men think at all; and it is not until the individual lias witnessed many cases that he can fully realize the truth; nnd even then he may nonelude them all very Pilling eases, which would have readily yielded to any simple medieine, yet persons, though they have been thus successful in perhaps hundreds of cases, must expect that there will cases occur where there is some organic or local cause so grout as to ivqitire particulm attention, or though sueress id in reducing the fever, it w ill again rise a- the infliienee of the “ Fluid” passes off. as the exeiting* eanse may still exist. It is to guard against disappointment in such eases that I have given and frequent ly refer to what I have called a 44 synopsis. Remarks oil Fevers in (feiieral* On this subject I wish to be hilly understood. Ity the term “levers,” ! comprehend uli febrile affections to w hich the human frame is subject, including small pox aud other erupti>e fevers: but as they arise by a great variety of <nuis s, and iu quite dissimilar constitutions and habits, they of course differ considerably’ in then development and exhibit a variety of forms or types; yet all are distinguished by tlie same general character istics—that ol undue excitement in tlie circulatory and nervous systems inducing more or less unnatural fir qutmey in the pulse, sense of heat, dryness of the skin, debility, Ac. To show that I am not wholly alone in the opinion I advance. I quote from the < elcbrnfcd Prof. T. Watson, of King’s College. London, whose work on the ** Prim i pies and Practice of Physic ’ is a text book in many ot our medical colleges, and consequently stawla /v/ aulhw ity. On page B.*J4, lie says:—“ \\\* hear continually’, both in and mit ot the profession, different species of fever spo ken of. lfv the public. Typhus Fever, Drain Fever. Eilious Fever, Putrid Fever, Low Fever, Nervous Fever, Ac. Ami systematic writers are to tin* full as particular: Mucous Fever, Ataxic. Adynamic, Gastro-Kntcric, and so forth. Now, admitting that lever shows itself under Various forms. I am persuaded that the effect upon the mind of all this suit-division, is bad and hurtful. It cne mages a disposition, a heady too prevalent,’ to pre scribe for a disease according to its itapie. There is nu line of genuine distinction lel ween continued fevers, that can be relied on. They run insensibly into each other, even the ui dissimilar of them, and are often ■traceable to the same cause.” The above is a great fact, one worthy of remembrance and l would iinjure son your minds the folly of hunting up or troubling you self about a “mom;'* if you have fever, treat it at once as hereafter directed, and you vuil hi mil instead of any distinctcharactor being devcl oped, oas to he properly named by the most scientific. This assertion is no hypothesis based on closet specula tioqs or visions of mind, hut on experience at the bed side of the sick, in hundreds, aye. thousands of eases (by myself and others) under a great variety of cir cumstances, seasons and climates. Rear this in mind, and treat at once without regard to name, and rest assured you will soon be freed from all dread of linger ing and dangerous fevers. Rut as cases may have be come developed before the “ Fluid” is given, either by neglect, or under some other treatment, I will describe as briefly as possible the proper course to be pursued iu all of the most prominent fevers, though the “ Rules” and “ Synopsis*’ will he amply sufficient for all those accustomed to attendance upon the sick.
