up or troubling yourself about a “ name,'’ if yon have
lever, treat It at, once hh hereafter directed, and you

.ned, so as to be properly named by the most scientille.
This assertion Is no hypothesis based on closet specula
tions or visions of mind, hut on experience at the bed
side of the sick, in hundreds, aye, thousands of eases
(by myself and others) under a great variety of cir
cumstances, seasons and climates. Knur this in mind,
and treat at mice without regard to name, and rest
assured you will soon he freed from all dread of linger
ing and dangerous fevers, lint ns cases may have be
come developed In-tore the “ Fluid” is given, either by
neglect, or under some other treatment, I will describe
as briefly as possible the proper course to he pursued iu
all of the most prominent fevers, though the” Itulcs”
and “Synopsis” will lie amply sufficient for all those
accustomed to attendance upon the sick.

As the*, fevers are all of one character, differing
mainly iu degree, being all of a low grade, the pulse
small and wiry, vv ith a general great depression, there Is
no practlcul us* in separating them—at least so far us
my treatment is concerned In these low fevers, when
telly developed, n little patience will lie required; still
•- imparotively little, a* tliev frequently run Weeks under
th ootninon treatment, while with this but a few day*

The treatment should he commenced—which luuv
immediately follow any other without detriment—with
u toaspoouf.il of “ Fluid” every two hours, till the pulse
becomes fuller or larger in volume, then to be continued
one* in six or sight huun till the fever entiruly subside!.
In bad cases, from three to live grains each ol i/mitAie

Synopsis.
To avutil coustiuit repetition, and condense tin- trt-al
m. lit as much as possible. 1 give under this bend general
directions till-all . uses. As the Negative Electric Fluid
will cltange the condition called lever, or subdue and
control it under all circumstances, vv itliout regard h> the

vvlierevcr or whenever it exists; yet it. eannot l.e ex
pected to control all organic or local causes, which,
when sncli exist, must be removed iu order lo effect a
permanent cure.

be appropriate means, ami these sohuld la- given while
giving the “Fluid,” and iu connection with it, when
occasion requires, as they will then more readily net.

If the bowels are costive, give a cathartic (see auxili

fail to operate in due time, repeat tlic dose; if attended
with diaii-im-a, give something known to be good for
tliat complaint, though if caused by irritability, the
“Fluid” will soon relieve Hint condition : if severe local
pain or inflammation, apply some stimulating liniment,
a mustard planter, a blister, fomentations of hitter herbs,
or, perlnqis, cloths wet iu cold water, to the part: il
violent pain iu the huml, apply cold water, ice water,
if couvcuiuut, or some cooling application, and bathe
tlm feet iu hot water; if the lever is very high, skin
dry and hot, with great suffering, sponge or Indhe the

during convalescence, when the patient lias become re

stomach has settled, give tie- “ Fluid” and a cathartic it

Parties may feel at a loss to know what is mount by

about what is used. 1 have found no such necessity
when using the Fluid, and to lie fully understood b'v

bowels, such as castor oil. salts, senna, any of the roots
I or barks, and many pills, autibilious. Ac.; anything
known to l.e good for such purposes.
