ment of a Board of Trust ees, in conjunction with a Board
of Visitors appointed by the Governor of the State.
By an net of tho Legislature, the Institute has been

and a Field Battery, consisting of four six-pounder brass
pieces, and two twelve-pounder Howitzers.
Tlie Superintendent and the Commandant, are gradu
ates of West Point, and as the Institute is upon the Y\ est
Point plan, the public may lie assured that tlie govern
ment, discipline, ami course of studies will be strictly en
